Didn't know about the Big Jim eagle. Mattel had an earlier Zorr, spelled with two "r" that was an outdoor styrofoam glider shaped like an eagle. I didn't know about that one either until I googled Big Jim's eagle.
I also discovered He-Man.org has shut down. I didn't go there very often and I'm not sure, were their members considered toxic? I never seen anything too out of line there (I may have missed the issues) and I'm sad to see another board shutdown. I just can't Facebook and Twitter regularly without the urge to knock Zuck's and Musk's heads together.
According to a post I saw from Pixel Dan about the ORG closing up, it was related to low traffic and high costs of maintaining it/keeping it operational.

This is correct. He-Man.org had been falling apart slowly for awhile and the forums were really the last part of the site that Val finally let die last week. He indicated it was too expensive to continue to maintain and he needed/wanted to focus elsewhere.
It's too bad because I loved it as a resource for certain knowledge and a repository for tons of great customs.
Just a heads up in case anyone hasn't checked lately.
Mattel Creations is doing a BOGO sale on select items right now. The BOGO is a true BOGO where it is buy one, get one FREE!!!
So if you buy two items of the same price, you'll get one free. If not the cheaper item will be free.
Not too much MOTU, but right now they have Masterverse Vykron, Dark-Lyn and Motherboard. Origins they have Hypno and the He-Man exclusive four pack.
I got an e-mail saying Movie Evil Lyn will be processing soon at BBTS. I'm excited to finally have a movie Evil Lyn. I hope in Masterverse they can get to at least Blade, Saurod, and Gwildor. But I wish they could do Beast Man, Karg, Man At Arms, and Teela as well.
There is word going round that when the next new Wave is announced, it might be as follows.
Wave 13
Emperor Hordak (from Revolutions)
Thunder Punch He-Man
Sy-Klone
Leech
Deluxe Horde Trooper
I'm a sucker for the vintage HM variants so I'm excited to see how TP He-Man turns out. Leech too, since he's one of my favorite original baddies, but I've already got the Origins one and I'm really trying to stay light on the Masterverse figures these days.
Excited to finally get Lyn, though. Still hoping they're going to reveal a proper movie-style Blade, MAA, Beast Man, and Teela. And God Skeletor.
@theknightdamien Yeah I have really cut back on Masterverse, even Origins. There is a lot coming up that I am probably going to cave on (TMNTxMTOU, Filmation) so something has to give. Although I'll probably bite right away on the Horde Trooper. Especially since I have the Masterverse Hordak already.
Man... such a freakin Mattel thing to do to make the army builder a Deluxe figure so they can charge double. That's just nasty right there.
@panthercult When you say double, I assume you mean 50% more than standard release in real math.

Sure, yeah - mild hyperbole on my part. It's a $35 price point for the army builder rather than the $22 price point for the regular figures. Still cynical and mean to price the item you know people want multiples of at that higher price.
@panthercult I agree, but I will give Mattel some credit that they do a pretty good job with Masterverse deluxes so that they actually feel like you are getting some value for the extra cost.

In some cases that's true... the Deluxe Beast Man had a lot of fun plusses... some of the other ones (ahem King Greyskull) felt like a ripoff from the jump.
And for me variation on my Horde Troopers only matters if I have an army of them and I'm less likely to build an army if two figures cost the same as three regular figures. If you want a higher price point at least do a two pack, you sell the same figure twice and can drop in a couple of extras flourishes and charge $50 and have people feel good. $35 per figure is a cash grab.
@panthercult I guess it depends on what they end up including in the package. Of course most lines have that same problem to varying degrees. Some like TFs really do milk the idea of getting more for a higher price when in reality you are not getting more than maybe an extra accessory or two (SS86 Starscream was a major culprit of this kind of thinking). ML is another culprit for this kind of release. However probably the biggest offender of late is SW:BS. There have been way too many deluxe releases in the last couple of years where it was nothing more than a regular figure with some fancy paint.
Others like Joe and Masterverse tend to lean more towards, at least, trying to give value for money on the deluxe offerings. Joe does a great job of kitting out their deluxes, or even offering bigger pack-ins (figure & pet, Scrap Iron's drone). Yes Masterverse has their King Grayskulls or Orko/Gwildor, but I feel they have done a pretty good job more often than not giving us a lot for the extra cost. Either with larger figures (Clawful, Whiplash, Two Bad) or a good number of extras (Revelations Tri-Klops, Beast Man, Trap Jaw).
For the Horde Trooper it will, of course, be a wait and see. I am kind of torn on which way I would prefer it to be released. Your idea is pretty good, or just a basic release like they did with Origins. However if they were to really kit out a deluxe with alternate heads so that I could have a regular trooper, snake trooper and whatever else, along with a couple of weapons then I would be fine with the deluxe pricing.
And hey, as Flexion Dynamo said, it'll be discounted soon enough after relese. (Well at least in the US, Canada will offer 10-20% off and consider that a "clearance" haha)
