Masters of the Universe Masterverse

Sculpt-wise, I'm so excited for that new Battle Armor He-Man.
Paint-wise, it looks like absolute trash. WHY are they going with a completely different color between the armor and the sigil plate? WHY? That's my second most anticipated figure of the line-up and like.. based on the shots we've seen so far, I don't even want to pay money for it.

So, what did everyone pre order?  I think I pre ordered everything Masterverse except for the Robot Skeletor.  I may get it at some point, but I might not.  It just didn't feel like anything I had to have.  

I preordered Mekanek, plus the New Eternia Man At Arms and Trapjaw. I looked at Triklops but didn't feel like there was enough of an improvement over the Revelation figure.

My goal is to complete this assortment artwork from 1984 with Masterverse figures. With Mekanek, all I'll really need is Kobra Khan and Battle Armor Skeletor (not including vehicles, birds and cats, though I do have some Classics and Origins stand ins for those).

I know there is no way of knowing for sure, but do you guys feel pretty safe that since they have done Masterverse figures of Movie He-Man, Skeletor, and now Evil Lyn, that they will probably make a movie Gwildor?

I know Gwildor is in this upcoming Revolution set with White Orko, but I don't really like it as it looks so animated.  I'd much rather have a movie or vintage toy style Gwildor.

@supercamel-1982  I don't know that I'd say I'm -confident- about it. But I think it's fairly likely that we'll see movie Gwildor. I'm very much hoping we'll also see movie Blade. He appeared very briefly in the new cartoon, so with Gwildor now I'm worried we'll get Revelation Blade instead of a proper movie Blade.

I think the biggest hurdle now to getting Gwildor is that he's not exactly a hugely popular character and he'll already have one figure on shelves. Is Mattel going to want to put a second one out? What if this undoubtedly overpriced two-pack doesn't sell well? Those are the thoughts that make me think movie Gwildor isn't FOR SURE going to happen.
The other side of that coin is that I don't see Mattel going beyond He-Man and Skeletor at all if they weren't planning to do multiple more figures. Like.. why do Evil-Lyn if the plan is to not do any more movie figures afterward? Why even bother, right?

But it's Mattel. They're cagey cats. Hard to guess where they're going with stuff.

If I wanted a Gwildor to go with those movie figures, I'd settle for the one coming in the 2pk. But I don't want a white Orko either, so I guess my decision is made.

Yeah, I don't want or need a white Orko either NORM.  So, I would easily pass on this set if I really believed we'd get a toy or movie version of Gwildor that didn't look so animated. But I don't trust that, for all the reasons KnightDamien listed.

But I like having as many (preferably all) of the characters from the vintage 80's toy line in any MOTU collection I have.  So, I guess I will buy this pack just to make sure I have a Gwildor in case they don't make a Movie version.

But I hope we get a Movie Version of Gwildor, as well as Blade and Saurod at least.  But I'd love to get Sorceress, Karg, and Beast Man from the 80's film as well.

Unfortunately she's one of the only ones I'm excited about out of the upcoming figures.

See, now.... White Orko is the one I'm most excited about.   I vastly prefer when they give me something I don't already have in my Classics collection.     So while Trapjaw is a big improvement over the one they already sold me,  it's not dramatically different from the classics version and so is less exciting for me.     the mecha Sekeletor is interesting though.

New Eternia Man-at-Arms, Trapjaw, Mekanek, and Triclops for me.  I'm excited for the first two.  Mekanek and Triclops are a little plain, but I'll still get them.

Did anyone else get the new Slush Head? I was under the impression that the dome was supposed to be removable so it could also be used on the "Mr. Freeze" canister/tentacle legs contraption. But mine was glued into the torso armor. It certainly looks like it was supposed to come off, based on the promo pics. I wouldn't have totally cared, but mine was glued on crooked, so one side was sticking up. I did mange to get it off with a lot of soaking in hot water and an X-Acto knife, but I'm wondering if I just got a mistake or if this was a late-in-the-game change?

MAA, Trap Jaw, and Sorceress Teela processing at BBTS 

I got an e-mail about the Masterverse figures at BBTS too.  I may have to cancel though and pick them up next month.  I have had so many things come in this month, and there are still some that will likely charge and ship this month.  It all seems like Hasbro merch too.

But I will definitely get these at some point if I don't get them right now.  I wonder how far behind Movie Evil Lyn and the Orko/Gwildor pack are?  Surely, they will ship soon too.

I got Trapjaw, MAA, and Teela.  They're not opened yet, but the packaging looks outstanding.  Possibly the best in the biz.  It hurts when I throw away Neca's Mirage and Archie TMNT boxes.  Throwing these away might kill me.  Only slightly exaggerating.  Sometimes the understated import boxes are nice, but these look loud and have nice in your face quality.

Opened Trap Jaw and for a second I thought I was missing his accessories.  They're in the compartment on the left.  I picked up way more Masterverse than I planned and wondered if I need a second Trap Jaw.  The answer is yes, even though I did like the first one we got.
