@adrienveidt I keep looking at that one and thinking about it. It's just a smidge too pricey for how much I like it, but maybe if it goes on discount at some point.

It was only $40 from https://5ktoys.com/?accountnumber=8066529788121 when I POed it, although they look to no longer have it in stock.  Gimme a day or two to get some pics taken.

I like the Mimic a lot. Too bad I'll probably have it posed in standard chest form most of the time.

You could leave some of the bones in the mouth to look like a previous meal.

"Fascinating. I am unable to detect any means by which this... entity should be ambulatory, and yet it apparently is; Captain."

"Dammit, Spock; get out of the blasted way so Jim can shoot it!"

So I think these raptor figures have been an unanimous success so far. Most shops have sold out of their initial batches and are putting up pre-orders for a second batch in April. Here's hoping that domestic shops follow suit. I am very thrilled with my set. They all turned out so freaking well. It does however slightly bum me out knowing these figures are made with PVC and acrylic paint. We pretty much could have had these raptor figures from legitimate toy manufacturers like Kenner in this form with these kinds of intricate sculpts and detail and articulation ever since 1993 but nope. We had to wait 32 years and have universal pour in over a billion dollars in merchandising across all licensee holders just for one studio in Hong Kong with a handful of artists and no access to the Jurassic Park IP to literally beat them at their own game with tools that were available from the start. These are the best looking JP raptors this side of the ones that were commissioned on behalf of Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures. I'll take some nice group shots for y'all later today

@shinigami-customs Yeah they really are. I can't decide which ones I like better. The tiger stripe raptors have always been my favorite raptor design in the franchise overall, especially since they double as both the design for the TLW movie and how Michael Crichton described them in his original novels. But the attention to detail that was applied to the original raptor is insane. I've said this before but the eyes look like freaking gemstones. And there is such great attention to detail in the skin impressions, the texture of their bodies, and the incredible paint detail! Every inch of detail make the raptors feel so lifelike. And still when you hold them in your hands you'll understand immediately how delicate and hand made they feel as well, and I feel like this is intentional. It's like Nanmu is trying to sell you that these are a cut above the figures you would normally have on your shelf. Even the high end import figures tend to feel more mass produced than these. I hesitate to call these action figures. I wouldn't even call these collectibles and they are certainly not toys! I showed these to my best friend the other day and after she handled them she said that these are more like museum quality mounts. Its like the kind of thing you might see in a terrarium or a professionally built diorama. That's pretty high praise from someone who is only a novel collector herself. I wholeheartedly agree with her assessment.

Regardless I would ask anyone who can afford to do so to jump on the bandwagon for this preorder batch. these Raptors are wonderful and well worth the price of admission

A little off topic but if anyone has been enjoying some of the recent releases based on classic Chinese novels there is a movie worth checking out on streaming. It's called "Creation of the Gods." It's the first of a trilogy and follows the novel Investiture of the Gods. The novel features characters like Lei Zhenzhi and Ne Zha.

Fancy Realm has one released and another on pre-order. I believe Nottaa might be making a Lei Zhenzhi figure as well but I'm not sure.

Ne Zha:

I'm sure it'll be fine...

Nothing important is made in China, right?

Right?
