In Veeb's latest video with Brian Flynn they talk about the D&D Ultimates and Flynn's response did not fill me with confidence that this line will be continuing.  He said they need to see some more sales before they go forward with the next wave.  The worry seems to be that enough people aren't buying the kids because they already have the ones from Hasbro.  He is hoping that the arrival of Tiamat will help push interest.  He says the next wave is ready to show when the fandom is ready to buy, essentially.

Lol. In other words - Flynn thinks you're dumb. This line isn't selling and is toast, because Super7 makes bad toys. But he can't SAY that because then no one will buy the current line-up that's -already- struggling to sell even without the owner of the company sounding the deathknell. Then he double-dips by bringing up current sales to try to convince you that, if a future wave that is TOTALLY READY TO GO! doesn't go forward... then it's actually your fault for not buying enough of the current waves.

Man. It's fucking TEXTBOOK bullshitting with this guy. It's not even hard to see through.

The worst part is how dumb he actually is (presuming, of course, he doesn't -want- the line to fail, which I'm not sure is a certainty for various reasons). If you're struggling to sell the current crop of figures, and you're sitting on the upcoming release of a really major big ticket item that could support interest in future releases, then literally the best possible fucking thing you could do, BRIAN, is announce the line-up of the next wave. Show some preliminary images even, if you're allowed by the licensor. Show the people what will come NEXT, which has been a driving force in toy sales for a minimum of 30 fucking years, BRIAN.

Nothing kills a line faster than 'we're not even going to talk about what we might make next until you buy all of what we're already making' unless the line is so good that it's already selling very well.
You know how Jada fucking killed it this past couple years? They made -excellent- figures, and they were extremely transparent about what their plans for various lines were. That transparency made people that were a little reticent willing to just jump in because they felt the company was really backing the product lines and was committed to making them unless there was just no possible way to do so.

Super7 can't get in its own way fast enough to put a hard brake on their sales numbers basically every time, with every line they make.

I'm not a businessman and can only speak for myself, but what really builds my interest in a new line is knowing that more is coming. I bet if they showed Wave 2 they'd see more interest in Wave 1.

There's really no risk to them in doing so.

A lot of the comments on the video said just that.  Time it around the time Tiamat releases and I think you will see a lot of people go back and pick up wave 1 knowing that another wave is in the works.

It's especially weird because we know they have no problem canceling solicited items. Hell, they've done it in this very line.

I've literally put Hank and Sheila in my cart on Amazon or BBTS like five times but getting no vibe that the rest of the kids are going to happen I just keep hesitating. And I haaaate how cheap the Hasbro figures are. I'd gladly buy the whole D&D party if I knew we'd at least get the core kids. (I just dramatically overpaid for miniatures of Bobby and Uni last year. I'm a very easy mark if I know they'll actually make the others.)

The biggest obstacle to Super7's success is Super7. If it's not the inconsistent quality and long delays on product then it's just their unfathomable business sense when it comes to basic things you would think a toy company would need to understand. I'm honestly surprised they have survived for as long as they have given some of the decisions they've made in the past and continue to make today. They must have incredible margins on their products or something to still be around.
