Am I the only one really excited about these guys? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spacezombiesfrommars/space-zombies-from-mars/comments
Worth mentioning on these, apparently they've worked out a deal with retailers that, presuming it funds, retailers like BBTS have already committed to a wholesale preorder. This means Kickstarter takes less of a cut, and thus means the kickstarter target can be lower, but also there *won't* be a retailer bump in the numbers as the kickstarter is going for this one. It's all on collectors to make it happen.
Here's an interview where they talk more about it:
I'm eyeballing it, but haven't made a decision.
I actually have no interest in the zombies, but those color-coded astronauts are really cool. They're not exactly what I'm looking for in a Space Defense Force, but they're still pretty neat.
I don't know. The astronauts do look cool but digital renders always look good. No interest in the zombies.
I have a rule about throwing significant money at first-time Kickstarter creators so I may pledge for a figure and look to BBTS if they turn out great.
I do agree with the consensus. The astronauts look intriguing. The zombies don’t really excite me, lest I want an astronaut corpse for a diorama. I was hoping for more of a Mars connection, but we’ll see what the future brings for this.
@grumpymatt So it seems they're not all first time. One of the guys behind it is part of the Animal Warriors of the Kingdom (at least that's what I gather from the video I posted). The sculptor has a pretty deep catalog of work on Marvel Legends, GI Joe and Monster Force, so I'm pretty sure the figures will look the business.
@fletch Yeah I'm with everyone else in that I'm basically just here for the astronauts, but I feel like it's unlikely I'll get another straightforward astronaut from any other line (except maaaaybe GI Joe at some point). I've pledged for 2 at least. I do hope it's successful just to see what else they do with the line.
They look good, but I really don't have a "human explorers in space display". No idea where I'd put them.
Guess I’m the weirdo here for the zombies! 😆
@buttmunch I'm just glad someone else is here for the line at all! It's gaining but a bit slowly. I'm hoping it gets more traction as time goes on.
I'm not opposed to the zombies, and I'll definitely use the zombie parts coming with the astronauts that will unlock if it gets funded enough. I'm just a astronauts first and zombies as a garnish.
Definitely intrigued by the zombies. The astronauts also look fun, but my horror passion always takes precedence.
Wow... I love the astronaut sculpts here. The price tag is a tad high, but I want to support these. I don't need any of the zombies at all, not my thing... but I'm thinking I'll want one dude and one female astronaut of these so I'm going to jump in at a pledge for two and hope it gets to its funding goal.
Don't you hate it when you type out a response, and then the Fwoosh decides to suddenly refresh the page and you lose what you typed? Yeah. Happens all too frequently on my phone.
Anyway, I like the concept of these. I lean more toward the astronaut aspect being more interesting. Although an astronaut spreading an alien plague can be fun for some set-ups. I prefer white and orange astronauts, so the early base colors aren't as interesting to me. I'll hold off contributing until the white and orange are closer to funding. With retailers, like BBTS, being aboard on the line, maybe they'll pony up and push orders for the white and orange colors.
Seeing these does really drive home my desire for a GIJoe Classified astronaut figure.
Guess I’m the weirdo here for the zombies! 😆
Same, dont care for the regular astronauts
They look good, but I really don't have a "human explorers in space display". No idea where I'd put them.
well, if you happen to be a Marvel Legends collector too, you can use the swappable heads, and the blue and green bodies to army build space forces for SHIELD and Hydra. Actual height comparison permitting of course.
