I pre-ordered Aragorn and Frodo at about 10:50 p.m. PT last night. It was quick and easy at AmiAmi. Looks like the figures are still available for pre-order.
No telling if SHF produced a fuckton, AmiAmi ordered a fuckton, or if this line is DOA.
150 bucks Canadian for Aragorn. I think I'm out on these. He just doesn't come with enough to jazz him up to that price for me. Hopefully the people that do get him take lots of great action shots, though.

I wouldn't worry about it being DOA.
They are sold out at most of the other spots like Nin Nin, Genki, HLJ. But, they're also being sold at BBTS, Entertainment Earth, and a bunch of other shops in the US. SHF Star Wars usually sell out pretty quickly on import sites because all the US customers are fighting for them as well as scalpers/bots to resell in the US. Usually though, after the initial run, SHF almost immediately does a second printing and restocks. A lot of their recent releases are easy to obtain now.
Since there is US distro on these guys, I think the scalpers probably didn't grab their share. But still, they are sold out in many places in Japan, which means in spite of the US distro Japanese customers scooped them up.
Is there U.S. distribution? They're well above retail at BBTS.
@tsi I'm not entirely sure, but it's hard to say they are well above retail, even though they are well above their Japanese retail yen prices when translated to US dollars.
This example might clarify. The new SHF Daima Goku figure is listed here at HLJ for 3,600 yen. In US dollars, that's $23.21 at the current rate. However, if you google the Goku figure, you'll see it in all sorts of US stores from Amazon to BBTS at $35. DBZ has US distribution, but Bandai has official US market pricing that is divorced from the yen, not a conversion of the yen. Their baseline DBZ figures in Targets, etc, are always $35, regardless how the US and Japanese economies are doing in comparison to each other. I actually bought that Goku from them in their store in NYC for $35.
Aragorn is priced at 11,000 yen on HLJ, which is around $70.91 but he's $99 on BBTS. The numbers, in this case, seem to shake out similarly with Goku.
I would be okay with Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and Gandalf, but who knows if they'll make them. I hope these turn out good, their Indy is easily the best Indy figure so far short of 12".
