@panthercult Yeah even if we don't get a Kraken or Muton, I think the red shadows are filled out enough if we don't
I went from not knowing what a Muton was to wanting a Muton more than anything in, like, four seconds.
Stealing this from Toa Maximus on the hisstank:
Looks like we have a leak for this line. Facebook user Argenis Gonzales found a Kiloworg with out the the guns, weapons, and clothing available for sale on Aliexpress. Could be a good option for people that want werewolves at a potentially lower price point.
Monster Force sells for a premium on Aliexpress and this one is selling for $71 while the standard one is selling for 112. Assuming the price ratio is similar for the US prices, it looks like we could expect $50-$60 for this product
BBTS sent out the processing soon emails
Got the payment emails from BBTS for Dracula, Forgotten King and Van Helsing just now. Into my POL they go with Mafex Comic Book Captain America until Mafex Daredevil comes in.
Yep... got the payment e-mail from BBTS too - Forgotten King, Dracula two Obisdian Guards and two Crimson Moon Guards. Will be nice to have this Drac to face off with the armored Dracula from Legends that arrived not to long ago.
Ordered 2 of the heavy gunner soldier this morning.
I like the multiple head options for that figure, and I have plenty of other weapons that they can use if need be.
The BBTS exclusive Carter launches Fresh Monkey's next line of figures: Fresh Monkies.
It's described as a team of monkey operatives that result from experimentation, and I'm assuming it's along the lines of Soldiers of Fortune, but with apes.
Now, I should be crazy for a spy chimp with an eye patch in a tux, but I'm not feeling this concept yet. I'll have to see who else shows up on the team.
@fletch I'm in the opposite boat. I know they teased a white-tux spy guy already for Soldiers of Fortune, but I like the Monkey better and I think I'll get him and the head pack if I want a different look.
Yeah... I ordered it. I know they did a space suit guy with a chimp head as an option in the 1:18 line, so it wouldn't surprise me to see them repurpose the bodies from their other lines with a variety of simian head sculpts to start this off. It's reduces tooling costs at the outset and seems kind of fun, monkey spies, tactical apes, that kind of thing. Then they can move off into some other fun directions I suppose. I have a soft spot for Ape related stuff anyway - so I'm intrigued. I skipped the pre-order on this spy body when it was just a spy, I thought it was boring. Add a chimpanzee head and suddenly I'm in.
Got my Monster Force in today, and boy do my fingertips ache.
I only had a couple hours before work, but I made the time to get them all unpacked and get all their gear, pouches and hoses plugged in like I want them.
So far they're living up to my high expectations. I'm looking forward to play time when I get home.
Got my set of 8 figures yesterday and have opened about half of them so far. They come with so much stuff! Except Dracula. Dracula’s lack of extras is immediately noticeable and makes him the weakest of the bunch. They knew they didn’t have to go all out with Dracula as he’s the headlining monster, which is disappointing when compared to the other figures of the wave.
I wish base bodies were available. The army builders in particular come with so much stuff you could easily put together another figure if you just had another body for them. The prices are just a bit too high for me to go wild with army building and I only picked up one of each figure for now. Any sales they may run would tempt me for more.
Very pleased with this first wave! It’s a fun line and the possibilities are endless. I just wish Dracula had more. He was advertised accurately so I knew what I was getting but when the Forgotten King has 3 full sets of different hands, a staff, and magic effects, Dracula’s one hand set, sword, and alternate head seem lacking. The army builders have 3 heads each! Plus a bunch of other gear. Not really sure what I would have given him but something more would have been nice to justify his price compared to the other figures.

my first instinct was to chuckle at it. Then I got looking at it a bit more. I think the character is too human in build. It looks like a man in a monkey mask. They should’ve worked a bit more monkey/ape into the sculpt’s posture. It would have gone further in communicating the concept.

That's a fair criticism - but obviously this is them using the existing spy body they've already developed for their other line they've previewed and they are adding a simian head. This isn't something they were starting over with an all new body sculpt for. This is more Roddy McDowell Planet of the Apes style than true anthropomorphic apes. Maybe down the line if they lean into a fully sculpted line we could see new body typing, but I'm thinking this may be the aesthetic they are going for. Sophisticated Planet of the Apes.
