Toy Fair returns after 3 years to the Javitz Center... in just a mere 3 sleeps.
I'm sad that no one really seems to be talking about it. Has the pandemic ruined us that badly to where there is no fanfare or excited/giddy anticipation? I remember the buzz and fervor that used to be as we approached Fair and Con seasons. Like kids at Christmas.
Or is the issue here that it's been sandwiched between Summer and Fall Con seasons?
Regardless, I suppose this can be a catch all thread for what is revealed to us, starting Saturday.
What are you hoping to see?
maybe most the anticipated toy news has been revealed already? sdcc a few months ago, pulse con and rumble con just happened.
I know its not everyones cup but im looking forward to some invincible figure news.
I believe Series 4 and MAYBE 5 will be at New York Toy Fair? Or possibly New York Comic-Con. The line will continue.
time for Battle Beast.
Bear in mind this:
Randy has stated that NECA plans on revealing most of their 2024 lineup at Toy Fair.
That alone has me amped.

Ditto. Though I do wonder if/what they are holding back for NYCC just two weeks later. Maybe TMNT stuff for that, and the more general properties for Toy Fair?
Either way, I was just lamenting to a friend today how there seemed to be no hype for TF this year despite it being so close. So thanks for putting this thread out there, OP!
How much coverage will there be? For SDCC, there were tons of Youtube videos of booth tours. It seemed like there were at least a few videos for most companies. Will that be the case for Toy Fair? I'm particularly excited to see the new figure reveals from Diamond Select.
@bills-all-day I reckon most of the usual places will have coverage.
I said it before on the old board, but it's such a damned shame that Randy from NECA seems to have abandoned his Twitter presence. I get why, but he was always good at keeping the hype-train rolling and he'd be psyching us up for TF right now with teases and hints and promises and even reassurances about what's to come. I hope he's at the show and someone does a video with him.
My understanding is that Toy Fair of olde was where the manufacturers sold toys to the retailers early enough in the year so the toys could be made and on shelves for Xmas. What's the point of showing off toys that have already been bought, made, and are on ships as they're being shown?
I've got a buddy that's going and will try to link his pics. He'll be looking for 18th stuff for the most part, tho.
I think the lack of buzz is just due to no one really knowing what to expect of a fall Toy Fair. Most toy manufacturers in the collector realm seemed pretty content with revealing that year's product at Toy Fair in February, then the next year's product at San Diego. It's going to be interesting, at the very least. I could see the more "toy store" producers going much bigger than the collector-oriented properties as people don't usually go to SDCC for news on Paw Patrol. If this year's edition does well then I could see it being much bigger in 2024.
I used to look forward to February Toy Fair. It was one of the few bright spots of possibly the worst month on the calendar, especially in northeast winter. I wish I had enough money to say goodbye right after Christmas and not come back until March.
I think the big issue is the timing. SDCC is big enough every year that this still feels too soon, and then we've got NYCC coming less than two weeks after this. Also, I'm not sure how it worked the last couple of years they had it at the beginning of the year, but I know the whole point of Toy Fair used to mainly be to show off new products to the retailers, and not as much focused on showing them off to the public. I can't imagine that's true for a Toy Fair this time of year.
That said, there is something I am excited about. Though I'm probably the only one here who is, lol. Apparently Konami is planning on revealing some new "cards and decks" for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. I'm not expecting it, but I would love for them to finally be announcing an international release for the physical Rush Duel game. They just added it to the Duel Links digital game today, so the timing would be amazing. I'm half expecting the new "decks" to just be them talking about the new 2-person starter set that's already been announced for early next year.
There hasn't been any news or rumors on this, but I'm also hoping to see some new Yu-Gi-Oh! merch announced. I was initially excited by the news that Phat Mojo was taking on the license, but they... don't really announce or reveal anything ahead of time. At least not as far as I've seen. It feels like everything they've done so far has been released before I found out about them.

We're every toy company and marketer's wet dream. We're the target audience and we actively seek out the product. Toy Fair doesn't make sense to sell toys to retailers, but it does make sense to sell toys to consumers. The show can build hype and tease new products.
My biggest hopes as far as reveals are:
1) Playmates Toys- Hopefully some idea about Star Trek good or bad. I hate being treated to silence.
2) Hasbro revealed a lot last week for Pulse Con, but there’s still a lot they can still talk about. Mission Fleet, What’s next for 3.75” Marvel? Maybe Thrawn and Night Troopers, Ezra?
3)Jazzwares Micro Galaxy Squadron, Micromachines - How about bringing back Star Wars and Star Trek Micro Machines ( I would love to see something like Micro Galaxy Squadron for Star Trek. It would be a great way to get ships scaled to one another. Don’t really need figures. Maybe something like pop of panels to see cut-away of ship interiors!)
4) Spin Master Wizarding World of Harry Potter - I know it’s a kiddy line, but I love it and want to see more.
5) Super7- I want more Reaction and Ultimates! I hope we get a peak at Conan Reaction figures. So many others I want to see too. More Star Trek Reactions, Hopefully The Thing, Clash of the Titans, Krull… I could go on and on!
6)NECA - Anxious to see more Dungeons & Dragons hopefully more of the retros too! The Thing, Universal Monsters, Flash Gordon..etc
7) Hiya Toys - Star Trek for sure. Hoping for either some TOS and TNG to maybe sneak into their reveals!
8) Mattel - Masters of the Universe and Retro WWE
I have a lot more I hope to see. It’s been way too long since we had one of these, so it’s great to have something to look forward too again!
I hope to see something like a Terminator 40th Anniversary line from NECA and something like a 45th Anniversary line for Halloween.
I'm excited to see what Diamond Select Toys shows for their Muppets and LOTR lines. I think they'll have new figures for both lines, figures that they didn't show at SDCC. I'm also curious what Super7 shows. I hope they have Wheezy and Greasy for their Who Framed Roger Rabbit ReAction line to complete the Toon Patrol.
@blankslate You're right. I've seen several posts from YouTube reviewers in NYC for the show. It looks like there will be plenty of coverage.
Edit: I didn't think McFarlane was going to be there. Now that I see they are, I hope they have some new Batman 66 villains from the show, like Bookworm, Mad Hatter, and Shame.
