Cookie Monster for sure. I think Big Bird has to be coming early too. I know not a lot of people here have talked about him, but I do hope we don't have to wait long for Elmo.
I think if I was NECA I would at least float a more obscure character like Guy Smiley to go with the Count. If they follow up from B&E with both Count and Cookie they would have burned through probably half of the most popular characters in two waves - I might want to save Cookie to anchor the next wave and pair with a B-list Muppet to stretch the line out. (I am figuring Grover, Oscar, Elmo, and probably Abby are the other clear A-listers at the regular scale).
@fac Good point. If it is a less popular character, I'd still like it to be a monster so we can see what they'll look like for the line. Maybe Herry, Two-Headed, or Telly. Wasn't Two-Headed Monster in wave 1 or 2 of the Palisades line?
Though, I would love a Guy Smiley figure. As long as it's another classic Sesame Street Muppet, I'll be happy.
Does anyone know roughly how many waves NECA usually releases in a year for their Ultimates line? I'm curious the range in number of releases we could expect for this line. Do folks think it will be 2 waves a year or more? I'm guessing it will be 2-3 waves (4-6 figures) per year, but that is based on what I've seen from other smaller toy companies. I could be way off for NECA.
@bills-all-day Neca usually doesn't do traditional "waves". Just sporadic individual releases and it all depends on the line and how popular it is. It varies so much with them. Some properties get 2 or 3 releases a year and then some like TMNT get 10 times that.

Here's to me hoping for more releases to go with that Pee Wee Herman 7" they showed. I'd take the whole Playhouse gang.

Same! The vintage Playhouse is one of my favorite parts of my collection. I would pay briefcases full of cash if they were to ever come out with a playhouse diorama similar to the TMNT sewer ones, alongside a line of figures of the inhabitants.
@justice Mine got damaged and had to be pitched. I stored it in the garage for 3 mos during a move and it got flooded and waterlogged. I still have most the figures and the accessories it came with.
@derrabbi that's unfortunate! I bought one off ebay years ago. I don't know what happened to my childhood one. (Well, most likely my mother and a yard sale happened). One of my best moments as a collector was when I posted a pic of it set up on Instagram and Paul "Pee Wee" Reubens himself liked the picture. It's especially bittersweet now.
Is this where we're discussing NECA Pee Wee Herman?
I'm going back in the Muppet direction with this post, though still somewhat off topic. I caved on Boss Fight Studios' Fraggles. Got Gobo, Red, and Uncle Travellin' Matt. I don't want to go all in, but the cast is small to begin with, so it could go either way. I haven't opened them, but they look big. Maybe too big to go with Palisades. They're probably close enough.
I saw the Sesame Street figures in person at NYCC, but again, it feels like it's too hard to tell without seeing them side by side with Palisades whether they're all in scale. But if they're also close enough, I'm glad I saw the day that we have these three Muppet groups together.
@normdapito In case you haven't heard, make sure to warm up the joints on the Fraggle figures because they are tight and fragile. To me, they look like the correct height for the Palisades Muppets, maybe slightly too big. But, Muppet heights are so inconsistent, I don't get too nitpicky about the figure scales. The two lines look good displayed together on my shelf.
Paul Harding, the NECA Sesame Street figure sculptor, said the figures scale with Palisades. Based on his attention to detail in the sculpts, I assume he nailed the scale, too.
I agree, it's amazing that we're getting matching figures for all three properties! I just hope BFS makes a classic Mokey, and NECA is able to release many waves of Sesame Street figures at a reasonable rate.
@bills-all-day oh I’ve been following the QC issues for the Fraggles. Is it irony that they’re Fragile Rock? I’ll be sure to use heat or other precautions to move the joints once I open them.
Paul Harding, the sculptor, Tweeted a photo of Ernie with some Palisades Muppets figures. Ernie looks amazing! To me, it looks like Ernie may be slightly too tall, but that could just the angle.

He also posted a photo of Bert with Pigs in Space, and he definitely seems too tall compared to them. Taller than even Link, dwarfing Piggy, who really should be taller than Bert. My dreams of intermingling these lines may be fading, but I'm still picking up these Sesame Street figures because they look so very beautiful.
