Oh, I've LONG since lost track of how many times I've seen this flick! I saw it in the theaters in its original theatrical run back in 1993 (I was 22 at the time, and there were very few people in the theater). I've owned it on VHS, DVD, Blu Ray, Digital, etc. and showed it to my kids when they were little. Both of my kiddos used to watch it nonstop, and have told me that they watch it at least once per year as well now that they're adults. I've also shown it to countless friends, significant others, nieces, nephews, friend's kids, etc. It's a movie I never get tired of, and I really love escaping into the world of Halloweentown!
Up for pre-order on the NECA site. Looks like the first 150 people to order the bundle get a free autographed card by either Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, Glenn Shadix (voice of the Mayor) or Chris Sarandon (voice of Jack). Pretty sweet deal! I'm sure there's only like 1 or 2 Tim Burton autos, but man, that would be freaking sweet.
I seriously considered ordering from NECA to get the card, but ultimately couldn't pull the trigger with their ridiculous shipping. I decided to forego the signed card and preorder with BBTS instead.
While I have most of the characters already in the DST line, I agree wholeheartedly about that line's difficulty in standing, especially in regard to Jack, Sally, and the Mayor. The inclusion of the multiple face plates for J & S was what finally made me decide to commit to the new figures. I don't know if I'll wind up buying every character I already have from DST, as many of those are fantastic as-is, but I will definitely be mixing the two lines together in my displays for the foreseeable future.
I pulled the trigger and managed to be one of the first 150. Was a little hesitant, with all I've heard about NECA shipping recently, but I got swept up in the moment and the hype. Shipping was $22 for me, which is about $5.50 per figure, so not terrrrible. Worse comes to worse, if the card isn't someone I end up really wanting, I could always try and sell it to make at least the shipping cost back. Like you, GillMan, it's one of my favorite movies- holiday or otherwise- so I don't mind adding to the collection. If they turn out well, I'll probably offload my DST Jack, Sally, and Mayor to make room for these, which helps the cost even more.
These look pretty damn good. I'm not a big enough of the property to need or want all of them, but I wouldn't mind adding the Santa Jack to my Christmas figure collection. Not really interested in paying NECA's shipping though so I'll wait and see if he shows up at Target.

I ordered, I was going to anyway because NBX is one of my all time favorites (I was obsessed with the movie as a kid, even had a birthday party with plates and hats and napkins! BEFORE it became the Hot Topic success it is now!!!). I didn't realize the card was a thing until I was checking my order out, but yeah, I got a card coming as well. Curious who I'll get...I'd love Tim or Danny's autograph.
I want this line to go on as long as it did originally and then some. I sincerely hope NECA rectifies some of the major missing characters from the original line too, like SANTA.

A card would have pushed me over to buy the set, but I saw it probably 20 mins too late. Definitely getting Jack and Sally eventually, might wait a bit and see if the end up in stores, if not—BBTS it is.
$35 is a great price though for all they come with. At least in the year 2024.

That's something that made me double take, I wonder when the hell these cards got signed? Was this something NECA acquired and are distributing with the figures? Were they going to try to bring NBX stuff back all those years ago and it just fell through? Questions, questions.
@hopethisworks with all of the shipping issues NECA has been having of late I wouldn't marry myself to that December ship date. They must be enroute for NECA to even think December is a possibility and I would guess they'll prioritize them since they're seasonal, but I wouldn't be surprised if they slip to 2025.
Yeah, I'm not necessarily expecting the December date either. It would be nice, of course, but I know how things go anymore. This is supposedly when NECA's Krampus figures were supposed to finally come out as well, and I haven't seen anyone report that they've started to hit. It's not like I don't have plenty of other lines to keep me busy in the meantime, but you really only have a small window to really get the full enjoyment of holiday figures. Granted, I keep my NBX figures on display year-round, and I'd do the same with Krampus on my horror shelf, but I digress. I've had difficulty finding that holiday magic the last couple years, so help me out with some fresh plastic, NECA! Nightmare After Christmas doesn't have the same ring to it!
As for the cards, my guess is they either acquired some old packs of signed trading cards, or more likely, acquired some old signed sticker sheets and applied them to new/old cards. I know that with a lot of Star Wars trading cards, they have the talent sign X amount of stickers so they can keep applying them to sets that come out for years and years. They're still releasing sets with autos from Carrie Fisher, Kenny Baker, etc., that were all signed however many years ago.
I'm not sure how far apart Diamond's line came after NECA's, but their acquisition of the license probably quashed NECA's desire to do any rereleases for some time.
I went and casually checked out and old review of their Jack from like ten years ago, and while certain elements (heads, accessories) look reused, the body looks like it may be brand new. Limbs don't have the swivel anymore, which is fine by me.
I'm expecting Krampus stuff to be one of the Holiday drops. Seems like it'd fit anyway.
And autograph stickers...that's funny, I don't think I've run into that before.
