Hmph. Still hoping they are going to do regular plastic figures but that might be too much to ask I suppose since both them and Diamond did do an extensive catalogue. But this guy isn't doing it for me. Agreed Misfit the tailoring isn't right. Too baggy. If memory serves me right, my old June Planning doll had a more elegant look.
I think I may just go with Revoltech's 1.5 Jack. Looks like a great treatment for the character and I can forgive the revol-balls here if it means a sturdy figure that can pose like the cartoon. Anyone know how he scales with the other NECA figures? I might get one or two to keep him company

I have the original Revo Jack and he is MUCH smaller than the NECA figures. He's closer to 5" or so.
You sure it's the Revoltech? He looks to be around 7 inches I think...
Not sure how to upload images but there is a comparison size review here
He seems significantly taller than 6 inch figs.
Looks like they're still coming out with the figures. If they're just doing re-releases that's fine by me...the figures were really wonderful for the time, they just suffered from clear plastic joints. Would love to see some new figures of characters they didn't make initially though.
I think they look pretty darn good. Re-releases or not, hopefully they've at least strengthened the joints a bit. As much as I love the DST line, their figures being more screen-accurate means figures like Jack are so freakishly skinny that you can't stand him without some sort of support, and he feels super fragile when trying to pose. I don't mind sacrificing a bit of accuracy for something that looks and feels a bit sturdier. I love me a good buildable diorama, so I can't knock DST for that, but I always did (and still do, from the pic above) think NECA outdid them in the accessory department. Even from the pic above, Sally's cat, the Mayor's checklist, Santa Jack's bag- all great accessories. Sally's cat especially I wish would've come with the DST version. I don't know if I need all of them, unless they really end up being better made than the originals, but I'll snag a couple here and there. I'm not expecting as deep a dive as before, or even as deep as DST (who are hopefully still releasing another wave), but I'm glad to have more NBX figures on the shelf anyway.
I ended up having to throw away my DS Jack because he fell apart so badly and I lost parts during a move. I am excited for the new Jack and Sally, they look great!
I'm probably in for a Santa Jack, I just hope he's not hard to get. Blaine said he's going to be a store exclusive, but didn't say which store.
Wow, these sets look great. I wonder how much reuse is there between these releases and the previous ones? Jack's smiling head and pumpkin accessories look identical. I hope they have a sturdier build, but they seem like insta-buys for me.
Somebody convince me why I should invest in this line a third time.
Ive been holding back for awhile on collecting this line BUT decided like 3 months back to finally collect this line.
On top of that, im a huge Neca fan so it is the perfect time to collect this franchise. i will be handpicking of course, not a completionist
Also wanna get Oogie boogie (green version), drac and wolfguy, must have.
Personally, I feel it is both.
Yup, thats how i feel. its both. you can watch it on xmas and halloween.
ive seen the movie about 14 times lol

Is it not the moral of NBX “be happy with what you have, just because something seems exciting and new doesn’t mean you need to take it as your own”
no, I’m serious; is that the moral?! It’s a confusing movie! Jack kidnaps Santa Claus then commits a home invasion murder to ‘save’ Santa from a guy who’s only crime seems to be a gambling addiction, I have no idea what the movie is trying to tell me!
NECA posted about Santa Jack and the Mayor too. I gotta say, I'm really liking the look of all 4 new figures. The swappable face plates seems like such a given for the characters, given that's essentially how the movie was made. Jack and Sally can both benefit greatly from it- they've both gotten a bunch of figures in the past, obviously, but so often I feel they get a single static expression that doesn't necessarily capture the feel of the character- Jack especially, since he's so expressive. I think it's a great idea, and that alone is enough to get me into the line again.
For me the true test will be how sturdy Sally and (especially) Jack are. I know it's literally their design, but they can be such a hassle to pose and stand sometimes. As much as I love the DST line for its dioramas and character selection, they're probably the worst in terms of "Jackability". It may technically be the most screen accurate in terms of skinniness, but that means he's impossible to stand without using the bulky arm-peg-stand thing, and he's so fragile that I always feel like I'm gonna break him when I try and pose him. Sally fares a bit better, but her tiny feet make it a tough job, and every DST Sally I've gotten has had loose knee joints, so she always tumbles. I don't mind sacrificing a bit of screen-accuracy for more stability. The Square Enix Kingdom Hearts Jack is perhaps the best one I own in that regard- he's probably the bulkiest of the Jacks, and still needs a stand, but he feels sturdy.
Obviously NBX is an evergreen line- there will always be product on the shelves, and kinda like how Hot Toys updates their sculpts every couple years, I think these are characters that can only benefit from the advancements in toy design. I don't know if I need the whole roster of Halloween Town as Ultimates, but I'd certainly take these, and at least another Oogie, Lock, Shock & Barrel, and Dr. Finklestein. I always thought a well-articulated Oogie was impossible, but Super7 seem to have proven that wrong. I'd love to see NECA's take on it.
Up for pre-order on the NECA site. Looks like the first 150 people to order the bundle get a free autographed card by either Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, Glenn Shadix (voice of the Mayor) or Chris Sarandon (voice of Jack). Pretty sweet deal! I'm sure there's only like 1 or 2 Tim Burton autos, but man, that would be freaking sweet.
