I broke down and preordered 8 reindeer with the head replacements. I don't care about the Rudolph head. I also preordered Winter is Here, Storytime, Green Camo and Father Christmas Santas. Since I'm done with Indy and Gargoyles (I think), all I'm collecting now is ML and GI Joe Classified and those are pick and choose. So, I was okay with this huge purchase. It would be nice for a sleigh next year. Still wish they would come out with elves with elbow and knee articulation.
@thegillman 18th, brother. Wouldn't have wasted your time otherwise. He'll probably be properly 10cm/4in rather than 3.75, but I don't draw much distinction between the two measurements; it's all 18th to me.
And fwiw they'll be using the Krampus buck to make a werewolf, wendigo, and chupacabra.
@adrienveidt Ah, okay. While I don't usually collect 18th scale, these are mighty tempting!
@buttmunch It is hard to compare, but the extra heads do seem different, highlighting different tones around the eyes and nose - best example seems to be Dancer and Dasher with different nose colors, and Cupid adds some tan compared to mostly whitish Comet.
If you look at the articulation picture on FMF's main site, the antlers are interchangeable, and there are two styles and at least three tones - if that is true then I think they can be made to look different enough.
EDIT - I also wonder if the Rudolph head will match the zombie Reindeer color tones, which so far does not seem to have any green on the main figure...
Looking forward to having Father Frost (Blue), Father Christmas (Green), standard Santa (Red) and Winter is Coming Santa (White) next to each other, kind of like the Santa Power Rangers, each with a different staff.
Dammit... this idea is amazing and now I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go back and get Father Frost and Father Christmas. At least I can use the Black Santa head for some added variety.

Which is why I'm surprised we haven't gotten a new mold Krampus yet in this line.
I took would've loved a Mrs. Claus reveal, but the current ones are great, as well. Father Christmas and Winter is Here Santa's for me. As for the reindeer, I think I'll get 2 initially, and maybe 4 total. I ordered the Boss Fight Elk for a Rudolph stand-in, so I don't need the head pack. I'll also probably get Gorgon

That might be the way to go. Put the Rudolph head on the zombie Reindeer body. Or put the Dancer head on it and the other Dasher can have Rudolph's.
At least then you wouldn't have to buy 3 Dashers and can just pair up like the rest.
Just got Santa in from BBTS. Quick question, do his thighs swivel? He has a cut there, but even after soaking in a hot bath, I can't get them to move.
I'll keep at it, but want to make sure I'm not trying to move something unmoveable first.
Edit: Finally got it to work! Ended up (gently) using a vise grip to hold the hip. That and heating it worked.
FMF updated their page, the Reindeer are about 2/3rds of the way to hitting their target, so I think that is looking promising.
Father Christmas is most popular, and the three "variant" Santas are around 2/3rds of the way, give or take. Storytime Santa and Red Krampus are only about half-way - as is the new elf (I am surprised the elves don't do better - they are a little expensive for the size, but I enjoy army building them). I will be disappointed if Storytime doesn't make it, I need a good "workshop" style Santa.
The 1:18 scale is struggling.
It would be a shame for them to close out this campaign before Wave 2 gets into people's hands and reignites some interest. Hard to know if they get a push near the end, I suspect the die-hards have jumped in already.
@fac They really needed to diversify. It's the same body styles over and over again and seeing these same bodies used in the failed Halloween line further makes them feel tired. I like FMF, but their 1/18 stuff is very reuse heavy but I'm not sure if you can get away with it as much at 1/12.
@thewyldman I don't mind the reuse, in fact it works for me as it is the same character in different looks. But I agree, they may be getting close to the end of viable Santa options - although things like beach/vacation Santa, Cowboy Santa, Samurai Santa all might work. If they keep doing Santas, I think the consistency they have set helps that, for me at least.
I was hoping for a couple of new elf heads to be honest and was a little disappointed by that.
But ultimately this is still a relatively low production run line it seems, so likely only so much budget they have each year to diversify. I think a Mrs. Claus would make sense - honestly standard Santa, Mrs. Claus, elves and reindeer seems like something they could mass-market to Target (if mass produced to a lower price point) and be kind of evergreen.
I do feel like we're nearing the end of viable Santa variants. Krampus ones too. They might be able to reuse some of the Santa for a Frosty, but I think that would have a short life as well (though potential army builder for Calvin and Hobbes fans...). At this point it feels like Mrs. Claus will have to be next wave.
Though I doubt it'll happen because it's way too unique, I'd love to grab a Mari Llwyd figure. Maybe Four Horseman will get to that at some point. Feels like more their bag anyway.
I got the accessory set that includes the white beard head, extra cap, white gloves, and satin sack. At least those are the reasons I bought it. It comes with stockings, a pipe, and a bell too. And one ungloved trigger grip hand? Anyway, the head has eyes painted with a drowsy look. I’m not keen on it, but I don’t want to display the original blonde-ish head even if those eyes are wider. So I swapped on the white gloves (I’d have preferred black) loaded the sack with three presents from my elf purchases last year, and slung it on him. The ribbon tie is so long, I just wrapped it around his hand a bunch of times. So I guess it’s an upgrade? A very lateral one. I would like to get one reindeer, but I’d want it to be Rudolph and I’m not getting four extra heads to do so. Dasher it is.
