@salemcrow TBF if it is a reindeer (I'm still skeptical about that, I think traditional Krampus is more likely) they coudl easily just be showing one set of legs. I don't think they'll do a reindeer minotaur. Although that would be interesting...
Got an email from BBTS that the Classic and Jolly Santas are processing soon, so should probably get those before Christmas this year
As long as they actually process soon. I've received 3 processing soon emails (1NECA, 2 Super7) from BBTS over the past two weeks and none have actually hit my Pile of Loot yet. It's weird since I think the last few I got all hit the same day as the processing soon email.

Welp, they actually did do Reindeer. I'm honestly surprised it happened so soon, but I'm sure that will be the big seller for this wave. I'm not as into the other new Santas. They have a preorder event that looks like it started but looks like many of the items like the reindeer aren't on BBTS' website yet. Additionally, they have a counter for 300 of the 2023 accessory set that already sold out, so hopefully that means they're adding more of that.
The irony is the flaming legs weren't for a Reindeer but a goat.
Guess I am ordering 9 reindeer and the accessory head pack. Maybe some of the goats. Zombie reindeer not my thing, but the zombie Santa and elves weren't for me either. I had picked up some of the HACKS elk figures to serve as reindeer, but these are better for a traditional Santa display. I may need to find that Frozen sleigh now...
Winter is Coming, Father Christmas are the top Santas to add for me - wish WiC had a translucent blue head to go with the elves with the same design, I can't recall if the blue Santa in wave 2 is coming with a translucent head or not?
Storyteller - probably? He'd work well in a workshop display not fully decked out. Wizard Santa, Sgt Santa - not sure. The camouflage present was something I wanted from the first Sgt Santa, but not enough to buy it again...

Yeah, I'm not really into any of the new designs. Definitely not interested in the pocket collection. Maybe I could talk myself into the wizard one which is kind of fun, but even that's not something I need and I already backed Father Frost which is pretty similar. I'm definitely curious to see what the price on the reindeer are. I very much doubt I'd have interest in getting 8 or 9, but maybe one would do nicely for me. It's definitely cool that they're going there though for those who have wanted to build out a full sleigh team. I'm a little surprised they're doing the reindeer without their own sleigh, but I guess if the reindeer fund, you can likely pencil in a sleigh for next year.
EDIT: The reindeer are now up and they're 45 bucks a piece. I don't think I need one at that price, especially since the saddle is extra.
At BBTS they have comparison pics of the Reindeer to the rest of the line on the product pages. They are pretty big!

I believe they added a translucent blue head to the Father Frost figure. BBTS never updated the listing.
@misfit The saddles baffle me, I need to see evidence that a Santa could ride one, otherwise they don't need saddles to pull a sleigh.
And I recall they discussed adding that head, but as you note it was not updated to confirm.
The saddle only makes sense to me if you want just a one-off reindeer for another character to ride. Father Frost with a reindeer mount, or the new wizard Santa, would be kind of neat. Probably not neat enough to warrant the expense though.
I emailed Fresh Monkey Fiction and they said they are planning to put up more 2023 accessory sets and Santa hat sets for the preorder event. They did not say when they are going up.
I preordered a Dasher and reindeer head set. I'm really only looking to make a Rudolph; getting all 9 reindeer is too rich for my blood.
Hate to say it, but I'm extremely underwhelmed by these reveals. I get that they're going for as much reuse as possible, but geez...this is a bit much. I like the reindeer, but there is no way I'm spending that much on each to get the full set of Santa's deer.
The only one I'm definitely ordering is the "Demon Goat", and that's mainly so he can represent Black Phillip on my horror shelf.
