I was able to grab 2 to go with my Santa. I don't know if I need the sleigh, but having just the 2 deer will be fine for now. For small orders, I generally ship right away, but this time I put them in my POL.
High numbers of Prancer, Comet, and Donner all available on BBTS. No movement on Dasher, but would have to think more of him is coming soon too.
Dasher being the body for "Red Nose" might have made that version more popular? In theory a full set of 9 Reindeer would be 2 each of Prancer, Comet, and Donder and 3 of Dasher.
Bill has confirmed that the the sled has not yet met the MOQ
Surprising, I hoped the Reindeer arriving would push it over the top, but given the scarcity of the Reindeer at the moment if you didn't preorder, maybe that is actually hurting it.
@fac Yeah I definitely think the reindeer not being available in some form the entire preorder period was a bad call.
Sales seem weak for this wave as a whole. I think they really misread the market with the centaurs and kids. Sadly for FMF, I think buyers are also getting a bit tired of the amount of reuse for characters that maybe needed a bit more tooling. The Pumpkin Brothers were met with lukewarm reactions (and did not match the fiction at all), and the santa centaurs feel like there's more reuse than they actually are because of keeping the bellies on the centaurs. I don't think this hitting a month or so after an entire repaint line of soldiers as well helped.
I preordered the kids mostly for the accessories, and partly for the kids, but they are a tough sell really.
I think a few Mrs. Claus options would have been better received.
@thewyldman there is probably some buyer fatigue with the line. How many Santa and Krampus variations do people really want? Especially when, as you pointed out, they're largely on the same mold. Not being able to get onto a schedule where the previous wave is arriving when the next one goes up also hurts. If people had their reindeer in hand and loved them then the sleigh probably does better. Maybe a bunch of folks have also made do with a much cheaper sleigh option from a craft store or something? I have to believe Santa themed action figures are a pretty niche market to begin with and FMF may have extracted all that they can from it.
Great news about the sleigh!
I admit I was hoping for a Cowboy Santa, but generally true that I have probably hit my limit for Santa variants. I actually like it is the same mold though, there is some upside to consistency for the same character I feel, and they have managed to make a lot of unique options and colors.
But its why Mrs Claus seemed so obvious - they could do a half-dozen to match existing Santa looks so easily, that it sort of seems like a natural extension.
@fac IIRC they've said she's on deck next in Instagram replies. I do worry it might be a bit too late. Still, I can't really see the line continuing too much longer past the sleigh either way. Mrs. Claus would probably be a little boost, for sure, but I can't imagine she'd keep it going for more than one more round.
Like others have said it's a niche theme for a line. A single holiday.
I haven't bought any elves yet. I'm holding out hope that they repurpose the kid bodies for better articulated elves. I just can't bring myself to buy a figure that can't bend its knees and elbows. It would be one thing if the whole line was retro styled but as it stands now the elves just scream cheap to me when compared to Santa and the reindeer.
I got in my four reindeer and goat. Absolutely love these. I'm digging all these articulated animal figures we've been getting from various lines. Actually at this point, I'm more excited for animal action figures than most characters lines are producing. They're something different, which I appreciate.
Was tempted to finish off the team of 9 reindeer but I realize it would be quite a lengthy team display. I was pondering them, and it looks like Donner is now sold out. Not pre-order sold out but sold out. I imagine there could be another run of these reindeer down the road, since they have reoffered classic Santa himself. And once the sleigh hits, they'll want some reindeer available for it. Maybe they'll put the reindeer up for preorder again in a few months to kinda time them restocking with the sleigh's arrival.
Huge jump in the Santaurs, only about 10% from funding. I thought they seemed unlikely, but guessing they make it now.
Kids still need a major bump....

Somebody asked about the kids being repurposed on Insta and I'm pretty sure they responded something like "there are more plans for those bodies" or whatever. Seems likely they want to redo the elves.
