I am pretty happy with the elves they did, the limited articulation and design made them really easy to mix-and-match and customize. I'd hope the current elf heads would work on these bodies, given we got three heads per elf figure I suspect a bunch of us have plenty of extra elf heads...
@fac I ever got the previous elves, are they a ball at the neck like the Santas? I seem to recall fromt he renders thinking they were a neck/head piece merged and on a peg. If they're ball joints I'd assume they would work on the kid bodies.
They are not, peg connector, so probably won't work.
@fac Yeah, that's why I assume if the chase isn't a toy accessory (which is just as likely) it would be an elf head. That way you don't feel as much like you have to buy yet another body to get an articulated elf.
They've obviously gotten a lot of reuse out of the Santa mold. Will they be able to exploit a Mrs. Claus mold as much? Is she going to get some of the same variants as Santa? I just don't see them making as many versions, so I can see them being a bit hesitant to leap into making her if she has a limited amount of reuse. I suppose we'll see what people are interested in.
I think they could start with a couple of Mrs Claus figures with alternate heads - like classic with an alt-Jolly head/hands; maybe Mall Mrs Claus with alternate Zombie head (both with slightly bloodied/beat-up outfit); maybe evil and cyborg in more of a black outfit...? So 3 SKUs but matching 6 Santas - might make it easier for them...not sure it saves a lot a way to test the waters without too many different looks.
@ashtalon I anticipate fewer full bodies, but maybe more head options per body. Mall, evil, and "checking it twice" could be combined into one with a bloody outfit. Gremlin and zombie. Classic, cyborg, and jolly on the "base". The only ones that really require big body changes with few swap options are ones like military, pirate, great northern, storytime, and the later ones with father frost heads. Assuming they even try to match all the Santas, which I somewhat doubt they will. Maybe they'll just d a couple of bodies and give us a head/hand pack.
My off the cuff assumption is a classic, zombie, and a lady Krampus of some sort (Frau Perchta I guess) would be a lock, and the others all less likely to greater or lesser degree (even though cyborg is my favorite, I feel like he won't have a wife except maybe as a head swap).
I could be wrong. We'll see. I'm interested to see where they go with her design overall. It's not like she has as strong a canon to her appearance except "Santa, but with boobs and a dress".
@fac I think a few things might not have been finished in time for this one. The Santa silhouette from the BBTS anniversary in October got removed before being revealed and it definitely isn't one of the ones we're seeing now as it had the Winter is Here hood on the standard Santa silhouette. I feel like there's a couple more things in the wings than we've seen yet.
Oh, another post all but confirmed the kid bodies will be reused for elves as well, which I assumed was coming. I almost want to take that as confirmation of alt elf heads as the chase gift coming with the kids.
Oh that is awesome news. I skipped all of the elves because there is no reason to make a figure that can't bend at the fucking elbows and knees.
Assuming Ms Claus is the standard “woman in a victorian winter dress” there’s lots of variations she could have apart from just matching Santa one-to-one
-translucent brown “syrup” version
-Grandma Wolf (or I guess “Kilowarg” in their lore)
-repaint that wolf’s dress black and red to be the Big Bad (toy store) Wolf
-Witches of all sort and sundry to go with the pumpkin guy (legally distinct Elphaba and not the Sanderson sisters!)
-A fairy Godmother or Mother Goose, though these may just be “Storytime Ms Claus” when you think about it…

Personally I'd advise them not to go with Aunt Jemima (legally distinct or otherwise), but grandma wolf seems like a good'n. Witches and fairy godmother also seem like good choices, assuming they deviate from just doing counterparts to Santa. Probably a good play, really.

Have they reached production numbers on the reindeer? I haven't heard any kind of update on those. I'd like at least one, but I've been waiting for them to go in stock. Is there an ETA for those deer?
@normdapito The Reindeer were las year's pre-order. They all cleared and are in production now. That's why their release date is early 2025. For the Naughty/Nice stuff the pre orders are always the year before and they ship them typically around or a little after the following Christmas (which nobody likes but it's kind of the only way to do it with production schedules). Final product has already gone out to reviewers like Robo (who did his review of them just recently).
