@therealsmallville these are much smaller than the Palisades and are all new sculpts. Diamond Select didn't put out any playsets but some of their exclusives had box designs that resembled some of the sets. I think one may have been the backstage set but if so it was just cardboard and plastic.
@therealsmallville as Justice said, these are smaller than Palisades. A little less detail as a result, but almost all have more articulation. These scale at 1:10 like most DST lines, but could pass for 1:12. They’re mostly loaded with accessories, even small characters sometimes. I definitely recommend them. I have these on display while Palisades remain in storage. It’s not as comprehensive a line as Palisades, but comparable in quality and charm.

Ah, that makes sense on the cardboard stuff. I'm assuming the "backstage set" is probably a cardboard photo insert in the back of the box sort of thing? Is that the same deal with the Statler and Waldorf set, with the booth they sit in? I was curious why the preorder was so cheap lol
Thank you for the info, I appreciate it!

I like the idea of them mixing in with other lines, just for the weird novelty of it, so being a bit smaller is good news for me. I think it would be fun to see Kermit hanging out in the Batcave trying to get Batman to sing Rainbow Connection lol Size is what has kept me away from NECA's Gremlins line, I'd like to mix them in with other things but when the Gremlins are 6" tall it just doesn't work.
I appreciate the both of you responding, thanks!
@therealsmallville As is probably clear from my posts in this thread, I love the Diamond Select Muppets line. It reignited my interests in Muppets and figure collecting. Something about collecting miniature versions of the Muppets triggered my inner kid/mid-life crisis.
As Justice said the DST Muppets are much smaller than the Palisades figures. The DST are supposed to scale with 7in (1/10 scale) figures. Even though the Palisades Muppets line is one of the best action figure lines of all time, I think the DST Muppets are an excellent line, too. In fact, there are some things I like more about the DST line.
Before getting into my opinions about strengths and weaknesses, be aware that DST filed for ch. 11 bankruptcy in January. There's no guarantee the new pre-orders are actually going to be made. Considering how many additional characters I want them to make and how much I want them to make the new figures they've announced (especially Lips and Lew Zealand), I really hope the line continues and all pre-orders are filled.
Strengths: sculpts are generally great, sometimes with better likenesses than Palisades, IMHO (e.g. Piggy, Scooter), articulation is pretty good and durable (I haven't had any issues with joints, including the figures I've torqued while customizing), some really great accessories (e.g. the balcony, Animal's drumset, all the kitchen utensils with the Swedish Chef), the prices are food.
Weaknesses: some paint QC issues, limited range of motion on some joints, Rizzo and Sam are a little too big, and long delays in between releases (hopefully there are upcoming releases!)
Obviously, I definitely recommend buying them.
@therealsmallville the balcony was an actual plastic set piece.
@therealsmallville The balcony is actually a plastic diorama. It is fantastic. The boxsets are just cardboard backgrounds. They're mainly for displaying in box. If the line does continue, I don't expect there will be playsets.

Ah, shoot. I did see the bit about bankruptcy, but I was hoping that just meant future items that weren't already up for preorder. I guess I'll have to keep that in mind.
I appreciate the response. It sucks coming into a line late, but hopefully the preorders still come out. If not, I see the original versions are available on ebay, though at a much higher price point. Looks like it would still be a worthy investment, though, if it came to that. I just can't believe I missed these before, I must have been laser focused on other things.

That's awesome re: the balcony. Thank you both.
@therealsmallville On Facebook, DST posted that they may have some of the Lord of the Rings figures that are up for pre-order on display at SDCC this summer. I'm taking that as a sign they have some confidence of continuing to, at least, that point. I don't have any inside knowledge. I'm hoping that the employees actually have confidence the company will be continuing, and they're not just bluffing. The bankruptcy auction is the end of March with finalization in mid-April. I assume we should know more by then.
Zach has an Instagram post of the DST display at Toy Fair, and Lips and Lew Zealand are there! It looks like there are a bunch of accessories with them. The photo is of the whole display, so it's tough to make out much. I'm eager to see more photos and videos tomorrow.
Has anyone seen better photos of the Lips and Lew Zealand figures they can share? I've only seen photos taken from far away. I'd love to see the figures up close and see the accessories.
I found an image on someone's Instagram story and I took a screenshot but I don't know how to post it here
