I'd love a Stupid Sexy Flanders, but only if they sculpt those magnificent glutes in a way that can be fully shown off, even if it means making him a pre-posed figure. A Mr. Plow Homer would be welcome too. Obviously more Treehouse of Horror variants would be nice, as well as a modern redo of the Be Sharps or Pin Pals looks. Which gets me thinking- I hope they don't skip Apu in the line because of all the controversy. I'm sure they wouldn't, but you never know.

Yeah, there was a Homer at the Bat figure. I was thinking it was the only Playmates figures I kept at the time of the great Simpsons sell-off but I actually only held on to Dancin' Homer — which I'd gladly pick up again.

yes and no, since it was part of a sub-line of mini-figures that never really took off.

once again making the Super7 mistake of going too episode specific

yeah I'd be disappointed if we didn't get an Apu either as he is a fairly important supporting character. important enough that having such a big absence would influence how much of the line I collect.

on the other hand, I can understand why the South Asian American community doesn't find him all that charming. plus too many people these days inveighing against "political correctness" just seem to want to be racially insensitive without any pushback....

so I dunno. I would be bummed out but plenty of worse things in the world for me to get worked up about. [shrug]

Oh yeah, I kinda forgot that happened with the smaller figures. It all just mixes together in my head. I loved the Mr. Burns figure that came with that set, too.

As for Apu, I'm not gonna be too surprised if we don't see him for the reasons mentioned. Maybe they'll find a way to make him a special release or something.

I think he's unlikely, being a character who's been essentially removed from the show, and years ago at that. I mean, they haven't even recast him with an Indian voice actor and there are at least a few prominent comedians they could have gotten to make that change easier.

Apu sits in kind of a weird space for me, where I have really warm feelings towards the character both out of childhood nostalgia and because the immigration episode they did was one of the first times as a kid I really encountered a story about what an immigrant might go through in a modern world. But mocking Indian people and other South Asian groups has always been easier in Apu's voice, so I get why those communities would bristle at the character. And ultimately my experience of a character based on their experiences doesn't equal up to their experiences. Springfield feels a little emptier without him, but I also don't know that they had a ton of great ideas left for the character anyway.

He better be packaged backwards, I don't care if it takes an SDCC release to do it.

Going further into the 4" future, when they do their first Sideshow Bob, which outfit do y'all want? I know they will probably do Prison Suit but I kinda like just normal clothed Bob and the grass skirt. Either way though he is my favourite character and I am down for any version lol.

Found the newest wave of 2 inch figures at my LCS. A slight markup to $8, but I don't mind supporting a small business, so I snagged Itchy, Scratchy, and Sideshow Bob. Nice to be all caught up before the upcoming wave. Bring on Ralph!

For me. probably Cape Feare turtleneck (with or without road and rake damage, either works!) or the H.M.S. Pinafore uniform.

had to notice the conspicuous lack of any alcohol with Barney. I mentioned earlier that it was difficult for Playmates to release a Moe's Tavern set when it was just 20th Century Fox; going to assume that something similar will not be in the cards for the 2.5in line unless Disney is willing to release one as an exclusive to an adult collector-friendly retailer.

I would assume it's more a Target/Walmart thing than a Disney one. Or a Jakks one. I have no idea if Jakks has released anything that "adult" before. If they want to do it then they probably can, but yeah, they need to find a different avenue to sell it and I'm not sure if it's something they consider worth it for them.

Nice to see series 4 leaked already. Interested to see what the next 4" figures are. It's nice to see that Jakks seems to at least be aware of prioritizing the completion of "groups" so we don't have to wait years to have everyone- i.e. the Simpsons family, the Moe's Tavern crew, and filling out the rest of the wave with others. I'll be honest- Bumblebee Man is pretty far down on my personal list, but it's nice to see how deep they're willing to go.

It's nice that they're keeping those evergreen characters like Bart and Homer well stocked, but I do worry how it'll affect the long-term sales of the line. I don't want any of them clogging shelves and convincing stores to order less. i know that's not too different from how things were with the original Playmates line- there was always some variant of the family on shelves (usually the Sunday Best ones around me), but times have changed with stores and consumers since then and it feels like more of a risk, at least to me, to have the same figure released over and over. Don't get me wrong- it's obvious that a Simpsons line would release the Simpsons in each wave, and at least there's some variance in color, but I think a different accessory or headsculpt or something could benefit them too. It's such a fun line that I'd hate to see it suffer the same fate as, say, Black Series, where those evergreen characters are often the only ones you see on the shelves. Still, it's a line still in its infancy, so I'll give them time and the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah, that evergreen "build up" is already happening at a couple Walmarts around me with a few Homers and a bunch of the regular Bart and Bartman figures starting to pile up.

Homer in wave 2 kinda made sense to me with how new the line was and how quick wav 1 was were scooped up at retail.

But I think this third Bart is a mistake — too similar to what we already have. I'm one of the collectors picking up every figure in a wave but I'm not buying that, I don't need Bart in a different colored shirt. I agree they need to be more creative with the main family. At least have a different facial expression or something.

If they get lazy or cheap it's not gonna do the line any favors.
