I just want some modern David Lynch Dune figures. I have the S7 ones but they just don't scratch my itch.
Just heard Mcfarlane will be doing Marvel stuff now. wonder if its actual 7 inch articulated Action figures instead of statues or "digital"
McFarlane is really taking off. I think I read somewhere the other day that they just acquired the Sony license too, and would be producing figures from some of the big games, not unlike what Spin Master is doing. Not sure, as I don't think it's officially been announced yet, but that would be pretty cool if they did. I'm all for well articulated, detailed figures of some of my fav games (though something tells me Spin Master may end up having the better lineup when all is said and done- Todd's still making some weird lineup choices)
Personally I'm not a huge Todd toys fan right now. Too many sellouts, release dates are unreliable and the figures are lackluster. I just spend a round with Amazon customer service over the Fallout figures and no one knows if Todd is sending more or if they're done. 3,600 units on that set. Does anyone like this exclusive/rarity nonsense? It's not the 1990s anymore, lots of people in this game now and we all want to actually get the items we order (and this NFT crap now). Get the damn product out, take our money!
Quality Marvel statues have always been available so Todd doing his take on the genre doesn't excite me in anyway. If he took over the action figure end of the Marvel license I'd stop collecting Marvel. I only have few DC figures and they don't exactly wow me. So am I boned on waiting for a set with no estimated ship date and a production run of 3,600 units? Is there hope?! I mean seriously, who likes this hoop jumping nonsense Todd likes to make us do?!
Edit: I just got the Sportspicks Aaron Judge in the mail today for my kid brother. Glad that wasn't a pain to get. However, that or my Fallout figs will probably be my last McFarlane orders for a while.
Did anyone read the rumor that Mcfarlane is doing Sony game figures? I read it somewhere on instagram but I can't find it now.
@spinc I did too. I know it's all rumors until there's a leak or official announcements, but I'd be here for it. The leaked lineup is similar to Spin Masters', so I wonder if only certain characters were available at first. Unfortunately, I don't see him even really going near some properties like Jak and Daxter or Ratchet and Clank (but I'd love to be proven wrong), but I'd totally be down for some McFarlane style Last of Us or Uncharted figures. Assuming they'd be in the same or similar scale as the DC figures, having a super articulated Joel and Ellie? Army building Clickers (also with good articulation, so you can get them into all sorts of creepy poses). Bloater and Rat King megafigs? I ain't getting my hopes up- most companies with the TLOU license seem content to just leave it at Joel and Ellie, but hey, a guy can dream.
Then again, with the wide range of scales that Todd currently has, they could just be those little Page Punchers, or little statues. Just gonna have to wait and see.
Yeah, personally I would love to see an expanded God of War line, beyond just Kratos and Atreus. Not just the Norse saga, but figures from the original Greek saga too.
Apart from that, anything resembling a knight from Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, etc. I've been dreaming about more knight figures from major companies, but it just doesn't happen.
I can see Todd going deeper into Ratchet and Clank roster than TLOU, personally.

Hmm. Curious about that GOT/HOTD collector's box. If those are new figures in the same scale as the old GOT figures McF made. I'd love more proper figures from the Song of Ice and Fire saga, but as we've seen time and time again, it's such a big cast that there's almost no way everyone will get made. Heck, Todd didn't even make a Tyrion in his line, though luckily the old Funko Legacy figures scale well enough with Todd's. I still have the McF GoT figures because I quite like them, but I wish he'd done more with the line. I'm torn between getting the pack to support the line, and waiting to see who else gets made.
How/why are they releasing only ONE of the Dumb and Dumber guys? That's like releasing Romy without Michele, or Bert without Ernie. Who wants just Lloyd? I guess they snagged Carrey's likeness while doing Riddler stuff, but come on.
That said, has anyone seen later waves of Movie Maniacs in the wild lately? Books A Million is the only store I see these in, aside from Target which randomly got five Jumanji figs. But I guess they are doing okay?
Right? That was my first thought too. Do a 2 pack of Harry and Lloyd for crying out loud. I can't imagine Jeff Daniels' likeness rights are any more expensive than Keanu Reeves or Matthew McConaughey. You'd think that by buying the rights for Dumb and Dumber, they'd have just been included, but what do I know? Ya can't have Dumb without Dumber, so Lloyd will just feel incomplete until he makes Harry (if ever).
The Movie Maniacs distribution is quite odd, at least in my. neck of the woods. Apart from that first wave with Ted Lasso, Wicked Witch, Harry Potter, and Bugs, I've only ever seen the Movie Maniacs at Macy's. GameStop had the Jumanji ones, but only the Jumanji ones, and I've yet to see the Jumanji ones anywhere else. My local Macy's are still sitting on a ton of Sloths and a few Hangover Alan's. Gandalf isn't super plentiful, but not super rare either. I think I saw Aragorn once at a local comic shop, but he was being resold, so he was obviously found somewhere else.
I'm certainly interested to see how future waves go. There's obviously a market for them, as the first wave sold through pretty well, at least near me, and the LOTR ones seem to be moving. I can see the Matrix ones selling, as well as The Dude. It's another line where Todd is making some interesting choices.
I haven't seen a single MM in stores at all.
