Four Horsemen Studios - Mythic Legions

The skeleton builder being in a different shade of white is a little disappointing.  Especially as they've been touting their recent skeleton figures all being in a matching bone color.  I'll probably get some just to keep up some variety in my skeleton army. 

I'm also interesting in getting some more Gold Knights and Shadow Orcs.  I like both of those figures and colorways.  They seem to be offering quite a bit of stuff during this sale.  Thankfully, there isn't too much I'm looking for. 

The new Skeleton looks cool. I’ll want at least one.  Not sure if I want anything else from the sale since I went crazy during the last in-stock sale so I have a lot of these already. 

The one thing holding me back from getting more Gold Knights is they're on the older body.  Since the Valiant knight body has come around, it makes me reluctant to get more knights on the v1 body.  I imagine at one point they'll start releasing Legion Builder knights on the Valiant body.   May be years though, before they start offering it at a cheaper pricepoint.

I scooped up two skellys and Demistros this morning. It's a challenge sticking to my undead-and-goblins rule but I have, so far, succeeded.

Well, after missing the first two hours and being pretty bummed I missed out, some constant refreshing resulted in the Skeleton being in stock for a brief flash and I was able to snag one. Glad to get my hands on one of these guys as I prefer the lighter bone colour over the more yellowed new standard bone colour, and it feels like these guys will bring the same fun and new experience in hand that the Valiant Knight provided.

Feels like we're moving into a new era for the line with these base body refreshes, and it has me looking at my older stuff, or even the Horsemen I have like Areythr and Illythia and wondering if I'm going to keep them, and instead just focus on standout fantasy trope characters. Like, Samir is a really good classic wizard, or Sir Gideon 2 is a classic Paladin...

I didn't leap at anything in the sale.  Wanted to mull over a few things.   Looks like the new blank skeleton has now sold out, so I guess I'm not getting it afterall.   I thought they would have made plenty and it would last a day or so.  I still have a couple of waves on preorder, but I'm also kinda burning out on this line a bit.  Maybe I don't need one of every skeleton, for instance. 

I went for 3 of the new Skeles and Skull Man.

I may or may not love Skeletons. 🙂

I was able to nab 2 of the new skeletons on my phone while my laptop was acting up on Friday morning. I totally forgot to look at the shadow orc, as that was the one I was thinking of getting for my panther head as a gladiator cat warrior.

What figures are folks still missing from their most wanted?  I missed out on some of these because of my own indecision, some were here-and-gone before I was dabbling in Mythic Legions.

I'm not looking for much these days but No'glin is on my list as is Bromdenn Ironjaw from that same wave. 

Only other two are dwarves — Jorund Runeshaper and Orn Steelhide. They were both in All Star waves and I don't know what I was thinking not picking them up. 

I've given up all hope but I would love another chance at Unkann from 1.5. Sold him off years ago when I stopped trying to pick up all the MOTU homage characters and mightily regret it. Got rid of Adamonn at the time, too, but don't really miss him.

I regretted not picking up Keltuss for a few years because I really want a light blue/ice skeleton, but now I'm making plans to dye and paint my own that'll look more like ice anyway. If I had more cabinet space I would've grabbed an ice troll, but those beasts are as wide as they are tall.

XYLONA

She was released before my time collecting but I’m confident she’ll get a new and improved version 2 very soon as it seems like the four great beasts (Xylona, Leodysseus, Eathyron, Bassylia) will be on the horizon in the next few years.

KING NO’GLIN and KING BROMDEN

Both seem like decent shots to get a 2.0 version (more so No’glin for a version 2) or at least a re-release at some point.

FAUNUS

I would love a version 2 but it seems like maybe just a re-release at some point in the future with cloth goods is more appropriate.

It would be nice if they re-did all three of the children of Necronominus (Malleus too, but I have his basic version) since their quality has improved and the newer children of Necronominus look so much better.

Ulterior motive revealed here...

I went in on the blind-box they did some time ago and Faunus was one that they sent me.  It's not one that I was hoping for.  I just want what I paid for him which comes out to $40 + shipping.

I made what I hope are the final adjustments to these two guys so I snapped some photos and I like how they turned out.
