Isn't Legionscon around then? That's why they always go hard in November.
I never follow podcast/youtube videos or anything, have they said more about the dragon? I know at one point years back they said they would love to do it but the logistics of it with packing/design/pricing had them holding off for the time being.
I think this wave was supposed to function similar to an All-Stars wave. They just came up with a different presentation of re-used parts. They only do one real deal wave at the end of each year for Mythic Legions and then another wave mid-year consisting of re-issues/re-used parts with maybe some new things thrown in. This is that wave.
Yeah, you're right. I looked up my order history at Store Horseman after I posted and this wave corresponds with All Stars 6, which was announced roughly the same time last year. I guess the fact that Friday's drop was a named wave threw me off.
I've decided I'm gonna end up grabbing Azza and Ka'i and possibly a winged knight.
I mentioned on IG that the deluxe builder sets end up being disappointing to me, since you end up with a lot of unused parts. The 4H responded that this blue knight builder set will work with figures from Necronominus (probably Aldaric) and also some surprised they have coming up. Intrigued by the surprises. I'm hoping they'll use the Valiant body for a basic legion builder, but I imagine they're going to use it a few more times for regular priced figures before getting a budget version out there. Basic legion builders are way more cost efficient to use with extra parts from the deluxe builder set.
They have to be planning more knights. The Valiant Knight is fantastic and we need more. Legion builders should be the next step, and maybe some knights that we have always wanted, like the emerald knight, or the stone knight.
An emerald knight would be great and is long overdue. I wouldn't mind a blue knight as well. A nice metallic blue knight would be fetching. I think a Silver Knight 2 would be great.
Cat Rogue - K'ai Pacha - wearing those boots is too good not to get. But there's no chance I'm ordering a single figure directly from StoreHorsemen and paying $12 to ship it to me. I'll wait for BBTS to offer it - pay their mark up and add it to a Pile of Loot I already have and save a few bucks.
4Horsmen + shipping is pretty much the same as BBTS with no shipping (providing you're already shipping a PoL). Guess you don't have to pay upfront with BBTS.
Haven't decided on what I'll get. Right now, I'm looking at:
1x blue knight builder
2x goblin 2pk
1x frost ogre
Will likely hold off anything else and just wait for other etailers to get them in. Empire Toy Shop carries the line and often has sales. Granted, they're often something like 10% off, but it's something.

That is fair. I didn't realize the BBTS mark up was $12 - I thought it was closer to $6. But you're right - I actually pay when the product is on the way and not months ahead of time, so there's that.

It's a love/hate thing for me with bbts lol. Pile of loot is fantastic and I shop with them a lot for that alone, but man I hate the payments hitting somewhat randomly. They do send out emails saying that a product will arrive soon and you'll be charged for it, but I trust 4H enough for the payment up front, even with how long the lead times have gotten. I totally understand those that don't like that though.
I usually order MyL from the 4H themselves. Their All-In pricing usually gets you a free figure, so even if one figure doesn't interest you, you'll get it for free. But you have to pay up front. For picking and choosing, it's a wash. Higher 4H shipping vs higher prices via other retailers. Gonna tally up what I want and do some pricing comparisons for this wave.
Yeah - I'm like one figure per wave with them now and sold off almost all of my older Mythic Legions (and Gothitropolis) stuff - so it makes sense to pay the higher price at BBTS and hold on to my money until the item is ready. I literally only got the bear mount from the last wave and only want the puma rogue this time around.
Regarding BBTS, I usually buy my favorites from Four Horsemen directly and then preorder them again from BBTS. Because…I’m crazy.
For this wave, I need the white knight Iosef and the Blue Shield Knight. At least one of each but maybe more? At Spinc’s recommendation, I did preorder an extra Sir Aldaric, as well. Then I want a Golden Skeleton. Maybe a Frost Ogre. Maybe the goblins. I could almost convince myself to go all-in.
I'm definitely jumping on on that Goblin set. ML Goblins are the best!
Might grab Cat dude and blue knight also, but no so sure yet.
Hah! So after going all in on the last couple waves because I love knights and skellies I thought “oh good! A lot of this isn’t appealing to me I can probably skip a few items!” but then I was comparing notes with my wife (who also collects Legions) on what our order was going to be… and the ones I wasn’t warm on were the ones she liked best! (For example, I don’t like the centaurs and have enough ogres, she likes the blue skin! She however thought Azza 2 was a lazy boring repaint, and I love the Tharice head sculpt and want it in a third color scheme!) Sigh, another All-In, sirs! At least with the discount I can pretend the Goblin two pack is a basic figure since neither of us liked the 2.0 base figure!
Cat Burglar is a big stand out for me in this wave, I’ve been putting the extra cat heads on the generic Cosmic Legions Space Suits (I got the idea from a tweet from Dan Larson of Toy Galaxy who called them “Space Meow-rines”) and this guy is just swapping out his twin daggers for a pair of laser pistols and becoming their dashing Han Solo-esque leader!
