Goblins and Dwarves brought me in. Man I just love those little dudes. They still consist of my biggest part of my collection. I will probably be a mark for new Dwarves as I ordered the two in recent offering. I think the last goblin I got was the deluxe legion builder.

I then kind of pick here and there. I haven’t got Orcs. They look good but they didn’t resonate with me. Initially I was going to skip skeletons and knights. Getting Owain and Gerard sucked me in for a few more. And tge extra skeleton head made me grab a squad. Then that Grim Reaper and the Viking and Dwarf skeletons sucked me in.Β

But I still cherry pick. In Poxxus I got Aracagorr and Zende. They looked like a good pairing. They do look very good. I do have my gripes. Still issues with loose peg connections. Zende’s staff holding hand swivels easily especially with staff in hand. Zende’s hood is too small for his big head. The wire in the cape is a bit too weak for getting the posing I want. I want more range of motion for the dragon’s head. His hips splay out a bit with the looses hip joints. The sword holding hand should have the vertical pivot not the horizontal. All those observations do not taint my enjoyment of them. I got the magic and weapons pack too. I basically got all the Wizards’ accessories but in different colors. I like Zende’s staff quite a bit. I have it in two color ways thanks to the packs. Loads of magic effects too. These two are fantastic additions to my Mythic characters.Β

Oh I have preordered that bear. The female frost barbarian is going to look awesome on the bear with her band of dwarven warriors. I’m probably going to get a valiant knight to try it out. I want another vampire warrior. So I may be jumping on the 2/24 sale.Β

Almost got Duban and Boreus in the sale. $100 for both seemed a great deal. I ultimately decided to not. They look great but I had not got in the ones I had preordered a few years before. Glad I didn’t now. I’m running low on space.

Thwipp!

At long last, my All-In has arrived! It’s hard to say something is worth the wait when the wait is over two years, but I’m genuinely surprised by how much I love this wave. I assumed I’d be more excited for Necronominus and Rising Sons, but I think this wave is going to prove a favorite down the line.Β

Some quick thoughts and rankings:

9. Tharnog: Tharnog is by no means bad, but he is FIDDLY. The Horseman turned their designs up to an 11 with this set, and while it’s all incredibly beautiful, it can also be frustrating. Tharnog is a great example of this, as the many, many add-on options make putting him together a bit of a chore. Even now I’m not convinced it’s all going to stay. That said, he’s got a real presence and his sculpted bits are seriously impressive.

8. Azahazzar: As someone who doesn’t own either of the demon twins, I’m perfectly content with this final form. He’s a formidable unit and I actually love his almost unfeeling expression. He’s restricted a bit by being such a chonk of a figure, but the paint job and sculpting are truly gorgeous. I especially love his awesome staff.

7. Thraice Wraithhailer: This figure is gorgeous. Her base body is on the plain site, but the soft goods cape is beautiful (a constant for the wave) and really stands out in the sea of blue. I also love her effects pieces and am happy to have at least one more female in the wave.Β

6. Arrizak: I ended up liking this figure a lot more than I expected. He’s the most "generic" to me in the nicest sense of the word, but as a prototypical evil wizard, he does exactly what you’d hope. I don’t love his soft goods as much as the other wizards, but I love his screaming head and the way his staff and effects amp him up. I already want more bad wizards.Β

5. Aracagorr. My most anticipated figure in the wave, Aracagorr does not disappoint. His paint is BEAUTIFUL, and everything about him stands out in the best way. Again, being so beefy he’s a bit limited, and I would have loved to have had a bit more head range. I can see this one being #1 for a lot of folks.Β

4. Poxxus/Phlogeus: Putting these two together as for me, that’s how they work best. The sculpt on Poxxus is incredible, and Phlogeus is just wonderfully gross. With so many ornate pieces and weapons Poxxus does enter fiddly territory, and I’m terrified one fall will snap his many, many delicate pieces. Not the most "fun" of the bunch, but a legit work of plastic art.

3. Samir Scrollwarder: At initial order the wizards were low on my list, and now I have two in the top three. Samir is a great example of a deliberate design. Everything from his cloth goods to his accessories to his color palette works together perfectly. The "powered up" head paired with that staff and his magic effects makes for a commanding presence. Would have been my favorite good guy in the wave if not for…

2. Zende Amaanthyr: What an awesome figure. Much like Samir, Zende’s design just works so well across the board. His staff is just ridiculous, and I think the head sculpt is one of the best the Horseman have done yet. Both Zende and Samir benefit tremendously from the amazing cloth goods robes - I agree they’d be even better with a bit of a stronger wire, but as is they look fantastic. Apparently I’m a wizard fan now.

1. Kalizirr: I can’t stress enough how low this figure was on my priority list when I first saw the wave two years ago, and now he’s my unquestioned favorite. More than any other figure, Kalizirr jumps out as being brilliantly conceptualized and executed. His paint details are phenomenal, and the combination of great soft goods and intimidating sculpting makes for one of the best Mythic figures yet. He also just moves well, which is not something I’d say about most of the wave, and he’s a great representation of the new brute scale. He may not fit in as universally as some of the rest, but as a stand-alone figure he’s my best of the bunch.Β

I have Zende and Aracagorr sitting on my desk and I feel Zende's hood is too big over his head. I wonder if there are variations in the soft goods. I wish it was weathered a bit too, seems way too clean and blue.

Couldn't agree more on Aracagorr's head. There's just no range of motion and it really hurts an otherwise exceptional figure. Was pretty down on him overall until I found a stand that could support him and I could get him into more dynamic poses. Helps a lot not having to rely on the tail.

And yeah, the magic effects and wizard staffs are pretty great. Zende's staff was a bit too flashy for me so I gave him the more modest staff with the purple sphere at the end from the pack and I'm pretty happy with it.

On a different note β€” they've announced the in-stock sale for Feb. 24 with lots and lots of stuff.

Stuff going up on Feb. 24, from Source Horsemen:Β

  • Valiant Knight
  • Wal-torr the Mad, Mythic standard
  • Wal-torr the Mad, Cosmic standard
  • Vorgus Vermillius 2, standard
  • Demistros, standard version
  • Reinforcements 2 - entire wave
  • Deluxe Legion Builders - entire wave
  • All Stars Trolls
  • Plus select figures from the All Stars 4 and Illythia waves!

Yikes ... Definitely in for Cosmic Wal-Torr, a couple Valiant Knights and possibly some more reinforcements.

I received my Poxxus all-in order this weekend. I haven’t opened anything yet, but it did inspire me to take a shot of some of the other nabs I’d been meaning to play around with:

Β

...Demistros proved to be as laser-freindly as I anticipated, but I think I need lower lumens.

Way too many things I want in that 2/24 sale.Β

I may just try for that much touted Valiant Knight. Wal-tor the mad cosmic legion is tempting too. I’d like a Vampire knight. I don’t know. Too much.

@samalas Yes, I believe that's correct. At least, not to my knowledge.

I know I need to be patient, but I'm starting to get itchy for a shipping notice on my Poxxus order.Β  I feel like generally they don't schedule in stock sales until their pre-orders have all shipped, but I haven't heard a peep on my 9 figure plus a horse order.Β Β

I'm also eager for my shipping notice. The Horsemen said it would take two weeks to get their final shipping containers and that was two weeks ago so maybe we'll get our notifications next week.

Β I also haven't gotten my Poxxus wave order, but I'm not in any hurry.Β  When it comes, it comes.

I want quite a few of the in-stock items.Β Β  Trying to determine just how much.

Thanksfully, the only Fan Appreciation item I want is the skeleton.Β  I already have so many skeletons, but they keep releasing interesting ones.

Gotcha.Β  I bought Demistros when he went up online, my mind was so stuck on that one I couldn't remember if Vorgus ever did lol.

Β

Definitely going for at least Valiant Knight, Mythic Waltorr, and Vorgus.Β  Just saw the Skele from the retail appreciation wave and now that's on my list.Β

Anyone got a side job I can pick up? 😭Β

The order on 2/24 has so much awesome stuff that I missed before. Really hoping to get:

Blood Knight 2.0 (first version is still one of my favorites in the line)

Valiant Knight! The new articulation looks great as does the compatibility with both 1.0 and 2.0 helmets.Β

Vampire Phalanxβ€” the old Gorgo style helmet looks great with this one. Nice addition to the previous black knight legion builder.Β

Templar Knight- Relic Guardβ€” another great looking knight

I am also tempted by Demeistros, Golden Knight (although I do have the very first Kickstarter one), and Shadow Orc.Β

@samalas

LOL 4H has been inspiring side hustles to feed my addictions for many years now. First it was Seventh Kingdom, followed by Gothitropolis, then the Ravens on all of which I was late to the party missing their respective Kickstarters. I’ve been onboard for the majority of the Mythic Legions run but managed to muster some self-control staying away form Cosmic Legions.

Β

4H is both a toy-themed blessing and curse!

Got my Phlogeus yesterday...and had its leg break soon after πŸ™Β  I sent an email to the store who told me to shoot a message to 4H, just waiting to hear back. Anybody know if they fix or exchange items?

They’re very good at replacing items if you bought from them or their approved retailers. Just have to be patient. They’ll respond and you’ll get the piece in the mail eventually. They even provide a tracking number once they ship it out.
