New release from Character Options in the UK - the Fugitive Doctor and Tardis.
Doctor Who Fugitive Doctor and Tardis Collector Figure SetToys from Character (character-online.com)
Hope we get figures for the 15th Doctor and companion Ruby in the future. Anyone have a good source of Doctor Who toy news?
When is D+ getting the Jodie seasons? Her ratings went down because the show got harder to find! I've only seen Jodie's first like three eps, her first Xmas special, a third of her second Xmas special because the DVR ate it and then the last five seconds before she regenerated. So I have a very vague idea of who this character is.
But very nice to see NEW figures! Hope Ncuti, Ruby, a repaint 14 Tennant that looks like David and not Colin Firth mixed with broccoli and a new DONNA F'IN NOBLE!!!! are coming soon.
Let me rephrase - all I want is a new Donna. 🙂
I really want a 6 inch 4th Doctor with K-9 and Tardis.
Those 5.5 inch ones are just too small for me.
I wouldn't mind having the fugitive doctor but don't need another TARDIS in my display. I just don't have enough room on the Who shelf. I try to stick with just the Doctors and their companions on this line and a couple of major villains, especially since it is all so hard to find in the US.
@justice In the announcement, it was stated a version with the Fugitive Doctor with glasses will be released - not sure how or when. So maybe hold out... (I caved).
If the line was doing better, I might expect to see a 3-pack with her, the latest Master, and maybe Dan (not sure if they could do the last two cheaply enough) - that would kind of tie up the Whitaker years as much as I might expect to see them do it. They could put her out with a couple of Judoon I suppose as a cheaper, more reuse option.
@schizm I think right now the Classic series is on BritBox and Tubi, the new Series from Eccleston to Whitaker is on Max, and the new stuff is on D+ (as Disney is co-producing). I have not heard that anything is moving to D+ anytime soon?
I have to assume a 14th Doc, newish Donna (expect a repaint) and ???? as a 3-pack will happen. (I'd go Wilfred as we never got one - bet they could repurpose Grahm or another base body for a Wilfred)
@fac A edit: A 13 & 14 "regeneration" two pack was announced, but I don't know if it was ever released:
@thegillman Yes, that was released about a year ago, that's why I think a 14th 3-pack might happen - re-release that head sculpt and a simpler paint job, a slightly tweaked Donna, and a kitbash for another character (if not Wilfred, maybe Kate Stewart).
It sold out fast I think, goes for a decent amount now on eBay. Pretty sure I have it - need to update the Doctor shelf but was waiting for 15...
That "David Tennant" headsculpt is one of the worst things I've ever seen in this line. Like I said before, it's more Colin Firth-broccoli than Tennant. That has to get re-done - I don't think a repaint can fix that ridiculous forehead.
Maybe it'll be a Bi-Generation pack - despite CO always liking to do the Regeneration looks, can they sell Ncuti in his pants to children?! 😉 A Tennant, Donna and 15 three-pack would be great. But also Kate and Toymaker are good choices as well.
Maybe CO could just go back to producing a full-fledged toyline...? For a gigantic worldwide property?
That "David Tennant" headsculpt is one of the worst things I've ever seen in this line.
Quoted. For. Truth. My friend from the UK sent me a picture of that a while back. I hadn't seen those episodes yet and had to ask him who that was with the 13th Doctor. I didn't even recognize it as David Tennant. Even after he told me I said "No, really, who is it?" This went on for a while until I looked it up and it was indeed supposed to be David Tennant. There is nothing about that that looks like Tennant.
@schizm Seriously!!! It's insane to me that the CO figures are so hard to get in the States these days. Sure, I could have ordered the Fugitive Doctor set from the UK, but with shipping it was almost $70! I like the figure, but not that much (and I don't even need the TARDIS, so that isn't a selling point to me).
And yeah...that headsculpt looks absolutely nothing like David Tennant at all.
Once Underground Toys dropped/lost the distribution rights in the US for the Character Options line, it has been tough (financially) to get the new releases. There was a year or two where the B&M sets were sold on Amazon, but that didn't seem to work out too well.
If Ncuti grabs people's attention and it is popular on D+, I would hope we might get more figures, and someone might pick the line up here - possibly even the Disney Stores?
THAT'S the character we get from the first three Specials? Not The Meep, Donna, Tennant, Toymaker, etc, etc? I'm kidding, I'm sure we'll get more - but interesting first choice.
Don't see the likeness on Ruby but Ncuti looks good. A little bored.
15 and Ruby up on the Character Options website and supposedly to ship starting Monday. Fairly expensive with shipping to the US, but so be it for a new Doctor and companion...
Review of the 15th Doctor and Ruby figures which have updated bodies with new articulation compared to their previous figures
