That is literally a dream line for me...  did I manifest this?  Do I wield this power?

Those are gonna be some sexy figures. I've managed to stay strong and not collect Figuarts up until now, but that may change. One thing's for sure (and this is no shade on any company in particular), but I bet their Legolas is gonna have no problem holding his bow. 🤣

Yeah, I've been wanting this for a long time. Multiple expressions, great likenesses, lots of accessories, cloth goods, awesome articulation (two handed sword wielding poses basically confirmed), man. Plus it's all 1/12, so it will pretty much fit with the Toybiz stuff. I mean they can still mess them up but they usually do great stuff. They can be a bit finagly but that comes with the style of figure, I mean I can get my shf Obi wan into almost all the two handed poses he does in the movies. That's insane for an action figure, really hard to do.

It seems that the license includes all of the WB properties (Hobbit, LotR, WotR) under the umbrella, which is cool.  Does DST have plans to include WotR figures in the line or is the animated look something that won't fit in with the Select aesthetic?

Not a question of aesthetic, we have done Avatar TLA and Castlevania Selects, but I am not sure WOTR (or TRoP, for that matter) is in our license. And I doubt we would start a parallel animated line when there are so many live-action characters to do.

Good luck to those who are into 1/12 figures! Hope Bandai gives you what you're looking for. For those continuing with 1/10, DST Series 9 (Bilbo and Tauriel) will go up for pre-order before the end of the year. Not sure when Series 8 will ship, but I've seen the prototypes for Series 10, and they look amazing.

@msword Thanks for chiming in!  Looking forward to all of these offerings!

For me, LOTR is my favorite property of all time.  I'm gonna collect 7" and 6" and whatever I can that's reasonable (sorry, 12" is out of my budget and space).  So, I'm happy to keep rolling with DST and see where it goes and i'll be happy to grab the SHF LOTR when they hit sometime in the future.

I'll definitely continue getting DST figures, specially of characters that are pretty much impossible Bandai will make. Like Tauriel, Thorin, etc. DST is doing a very good job with most of these figures, specially for the price. But I do want the mains with a bit more poseability and accessories. Both lines can function towards the overall display, I think.

Yeah, I may get these SH Figuarts LOTR figures, but I will 100% keep buying the DST LOTR figures.  It's such a nice collection at this point, and the figures look great.

He may get moved back again, to Series 11, but I think people will be very happy with Series 10.

Can’t wait to find out who is in the wave.

As long as Diamond keeps making good LOTR figures I will keep getting this line and if figuarts makes good ones I will be getting theirs too. I will just cut out other lines out. I am weak when it comes to LOTR.

Quite the tease there! Makes me bummed to have to wait even longer for GT Dubs, but I'll take a new character too. If the redo really is Aragorn in either Black Gate or Coronation attire, I wouldn't mind Arwen to finally come into play. Preferably in her Flight to the Ford attire, which, yeah, technically doesn't "go" with either Aragorn look, but the two are destined to be together, so I can allow it. It goes well enough with the existing Aragorn we have.

Finally got around to messing with Merry & Pippin.  They look great, move well enough & have plenty of stuff, but I'm really disappointed to see the paint flake right off the elbow joints to reveal flesh colored elbow discs.  That really looks terrible breaking up their green & blue coat sleeves. I'm honestly a bit hesitant to move them much, for fear of what else may be revealed under the paint.

I got my Pi Hire and Merry too. Still a pity the scabbard doesn't attach to the body.I put the scabbard between the jacket and the body.
