I'm (and will be) buying every figure they release, but Imho there's no point on trying to get all the Dwarves when instead they could use all that work to make other characters more important to the story: Thranduil, Radagast, Bard, a Great Goblin statue, Beorn... Thorin and Azog are a must, of course.
I was never expecting Tauriel, but I'm happy with it as long as it's not the only Hobbit wave we get. She will bring some nice variety to my shelf 🙂
Unless there is Marvel Legends levels of buy in to this line and a massive expansion of DST’s output there is just no way we are getting all the dwarves. It’s been 5 (6?) years since this line launched and we still don’t have a complete fellowship in our hands.
Legolas and Gimli were offered in early 2020, but they shipped in late 2020, I believe, possibly early 2021. Merry and Pippin shipped from the DST store last week, I also believe. So I believe that is less than four years.
I saw a video walkthrough of the booth, despite claims saying they would be there there are no new LOTR figures.

Series 9 was supposed to be there. Prototypes were left in LA by accident. But I showed Tauriel in the panel, I don't think Bilbo has been shot yet.

Or maybe, since it was an accident, we could see Bilbo and Tauriel shots whenver they are ready, so we don't have to wait until the next con 🙂

Figured something went unexpected with the prototypes. I’m very excited for Bilbo, Did any pics of Tauriel make it online? I did my best searching but could not find anything…or perhaps you have some you can share?

I’m not the best toy photographer, my apologies. My mini review:
Gimli was already an A+ figure, and this is just…more Gimli. The cloak, new head, and package design are all great. This is the definitive Gimli and now has plenty of display options across the entire trilogy.
I have one minor complaint, and that’s the size of the pint glass. It’s just too small. I’m sure this is the same pint that comes with the hobbits and it should scale fine, but it’s just too small for Gimli or any non hobbit character.
I hope I’m not in the minority when I saw I would have no problem paying $40 a figure if they all came this complete.
I've been scouring the interwebs for any pics of Tauriel from the DST SDCC Panel..... and finding nothing. I'm really curious to see what she'll look like. Anyone else find anything?

Arondir, I didn't order an SDCC Gimli, but those pics are making me consider changing my mind.... i love that helmetless head sculpt! If you're in the minority for being willing to pay $40 for a figure with all the bells and whistles, then I'm in the minority with you.
In all my searching of the DST panel I found one single image of one slide of some wrestling statue or something.
nothing on Merry and Pippin yet, Amazon is still listing Feb 2025 as their shipping date so none of their pre orders are pending. (They do have the SDCC Gimli listed for those interested).
usually when a new figure is released I’ll see a pic on Instagram tagged with DST, or more often than that a YouTube short or video when stores are posting their new stock but nothing yet.
I believe the DST website has started shipping Merry and Pippin, so pics should show up soon. I just requested some sets for press samples, so I will share pics soon as well.

Well wave 7 sold out in less than a few hours on DST. You can still buy them individually but the wave assortment is OOS. Which seems to be a great sign.
