Maybe so, but they gotta break even. Hasbro they ain't. They're gonna be making less than two or three thousand of these based on the backer numbers (so no volume discounts from the factory), and the tooling alone costs almost $100,000.
BoTM Wave 4 should be shipping out in the next 24-48 hours
As predicted, I received my tracking info for BoTM wave four via fedex
Just got my shipping notification for my black Smilodon figure. That will be exciting to finally have in hand.
Me too, unfortunately they're using DHL which triples the time of delivery. USPS would have a package from New Jersey to Buffalo, NY, here in a couple days. DHL? It's scheduled to come next Wednesday ...
Edit: That stegosaurus is glorious. But does the deco seem too close to the main release 1:18 tyrannosaurus to anyone else? (Glad I grabbed the Kickstarter-only Dino Riders version!)

The pic I posted is unfinished. There's more blue-green stuff on the plates and whatnot, as seen in the art. If you watch the livestream from last night, he shows off a more-completed version. It's really beautiful.

Yeah it looks gorgeous. And apparently its iridescent blue too. I'm going to have to buy this figure and one of those mini black lights on Amazon to really bring out those extra details
Legions Con display, including the painted-up stego:
So, I have my Smilodon in hand now and I am not disappointed. I knew what I was getting - having been in on the first kickstarter for some of the raptors. So I knew the leg joints wouldn't be ball jointed the way that say the Legends Zabu's are. But the sculpt is gorgeous and the figure looks great. I'm really pleased with it.
For now he will hang out with Ka-Zar and Zabu and some JP Dinosaurs in the "Savage Land" - but I'm hoping I'll eventually make an Avengers 1,000,000 BC Black Panther (Mosi) for him to hang out with.
It just occurred to me that I failed to gush over these allosaurus figures after they showed up last week. I absolutely love them. They are everything I hoped for and more in terms of their colorization, the scultps and the articulation. And they scale really well with the Mattel Legacy collection Diplodocus. Here's a pic of my display
