Chainsaw Man Toys

Great to see the Chainsaw Man love in the community.

I'm sticking to the main cast, so just Chainsaw Man and Power so far. Not sure if I'll get Denji because I don't know how that'll work in a display. Hoping they'll give us Aki and Makima but they're not bringing in the non-fans like Chainsaw Man did. Not with those designs.

They better do Makima! She's too important and popular to skip! But yeah, her design isn't gonna be grabbing most non-fans, and I can't even think of any non-hand accessories for her (maybe a lollipop?) so she'll probably come off boring.

Still, I love Robo, but I want to see him try to say anything about a woman in officewear making hand gestures.

Figma Denji is out in Japan, and he seems to be really lacking. Makes me pretty glad I decided to go with Figuarts.

The pants just don't look good, and the articulation is pretty limited too, which is a weird combination to see on a figure this expensive. Especially on something as simple as suit pants. Plus, the shoulders just break up the flow of the figure too much.

There's just something lacking about this thing compared to the SHF figure. The only reason I saw for people wanting this was to have Pochita and Denji untransformed, but the SHF version of that is on the way anyway. Seems like a bit of a miss, which probably explains why it's still widely available despite how insanely popular Chainsaw Man is.

I opted for the figma version due to (you guessed it) Pochita and all of the different options for displaying Denji.   I wasn’t aware that there was another SHF version coming.  Knowing figma Aki was in the works influenced my decision as well.  That’s always the problem with SHF and figma.  You never know how deep they’re going to go with any given property.

I just received figma Denji yesterday, but I haven’t had a chance to open the box yet.

@xavion2023 that's fair, the SHF Denji doesn't have pre-orders up yet, though it did get official images. Since like 90% of the figure is reuse of Chainsaw Man, there's not much reason for it not to come out.

I was really tempted to get Figma Aki. Just because there's been no hint of one on the way from Figuarts. But I assume they'll do Aki and Makima at minimum, if only because there aren't many other big season 1 characters to do, especially popular ones (Himeno, Kobeni and Angel Devil, who was barely in it). They need something to tide the line over until season 2, when we'll get more character options and crazier designs.

I’ve been doing a little window shopping since seeing this thread, and I’m actually tempted to pick up the SHF versions as well.   I can get both SHF Denji and SHF Power for around $120 shipped which isn’t much more than I paid for figma Denji alone.   Plus, figma Power has been delayed until October now.  I mean, it’s not like I only have one Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, and Wolverine in my collection. 🤣 

Whether you decide to go with figma, SHF, or both, how cool is it that we have more than one quality option?   The exclusivity of licenses in the U.S., especially the heavy hitters like Marvel, DC, Star Wars, etc., gets very frustrating at times.

I also need to pay more attention to SHF in general.  They seem to be doing a lot more anime now that the MCU and Star Wars licenses have died down a bit.  I didn’t realize they had the casual version of Yor from Spy v Family coming.  That’s another must have for me.

SHF Denji has been officially announced! You can swap the Chainsaw Man head on which is nice, not sure about the neck, though. Nice to see Pochita comes with alternate faces. Other than faces and hands, seems like the accessories for Denji are his axe and the dirty magazine he finds with Aki. Kinda wish he came with glasses, but I guess Power didn't either... fully expecting an accessory pack down the line for those, or to have them included with Kishibe if he ever gets made (he's nowhere near the most popular character, even among the season 1 cast).

Was able to grab a PO for Denji from Amazon this morning. Really looking forward to this. I think I'm more excited for Denji than I was for Chainsaw Man haha! Pochita probably has a big part to do with that. 

@nanigans nice! I got one in too and was surprised to see all the usual Japanese retailers had him available and still do. I guess not enough people are more Denji fans than Chainsaw Man fans like Fumiko.

Kinda wish he came with a collar and chain or something, but I guess that's probably gonna be with Makima to fill her box out a bit. But I'm still excited to get him, having Power with Denji in full Chainsaw mode just feels weird. Plus, Pochita and Denji would work in a display with the Chainsaw Man fig really nicely. Bandai also mentioned that the torso was resculpted a bit, so I'm curious how different it is. I thought the original body was good, honestly, so I would've been fine with them reusing it.
