I think this new line deserves a topic. It looks amazing, can't wait!

@nightwolf In that they are both samurai, yes. Any figure based on a shared theme will have obvious similarities, but presuming the render is representative, there's a lot of difference in the detailing and how the armor is handled.

Fwoosh had to make some design compromises because the base body for their samurai is the same as the ninjas. this seems a top to bottom samurai body, and at least to me it feels a bit more detailed and accurate to what my mind's eye wants from the concept.

No shade to Fwoosh. I love my ninjas and really hope we hear back about the Consumed soon because I really want that bad boy, but I don't really think the samurai feel comparable (again, presuming the render is representative of the final).

I really like the helmet being its own separate head, and providing it doesn't strangle movement too much, I like the way they seem to want to attach the swords. If this can come in at a reasonable price I'd pick one or maybe two up.

Goddamn that's gorgeous. How are the rest of their figures? I know Dan Larson likes one of their lines, but I don't know much about it.

@tsi I have 2 figures from their AWOK line and they are awesome: sturdy, modern articulation scheme, and a good selection of characters.

The very first series of 18ths had some issues that got fixed with the second run; and the 12th Kah Lee I have is pretty much a perfect action figure aside from not coming with the keen helmeted head the 18th version came with.

I'm *real* interested to see what Jason does with Oni and whatnot monsters here.

Never bought any Spero stuff before, but this definitely has my attention. I'm a sucker for feudal Japanese figures. If these are going to be a similar price to the AWOK figs, I'll be all-in.

Sounds like these are coming relatively soon. They're waiting for a final quote from the factory.

These really do look fantastic. I wonder what sort of color variations we'll get. I hope we get at least one that's really out there and loud. Something that really pops in the shelf. A teal or maybe a yellow (since we're probably never getting the Consumed from Fwoosh). Obviously most of the line should be grounded to meet people's expectations, but give me at least one that's a wildcard.

I'm still fairly pissed off by my experiences with Spero, so I can't imagine ever giving them money directly because I don't trust them. But I love samurai and sword stuff and there's almost no way I won't want at least one of these, probably a few. Hopefully they'll be up on BBTS.
While the way the swords are worn is largely correct for a certain time period, it does worry me that they'll make posing really difficult. There's a few ways that could probably have been handled, but definitely would have affected the price, so it is what it is. Looking forward to seeing someone get one of these in hand and put it through the paces.
Hopefully D Amazing or Johnny Nostalgia get an early sample. Or Jey. Any of those three guys would do a great job showing off how this guy moves.
