@prophet might want to hold onto those points because they;ll debut a new one there
Enjoy the presentation, we had a thing come up so can't go this year
I like Wave 5 enough to get the four named AF characters. They're at least interesting without actually being exciting to me.
Like, Sidewinder has a cool backstory as a former Garrison trooper (and I really dig the Garrison as a faction), but it doesn't come through a lot in the figure itself. I'm also not crazy about how far they leaned into Senshi's samurai look. I dig that he *is* a samurai and carries his ancestral blade with him, but the samurai armor texturing of his pads goes a bit far for me. Still I figure that's something I can eventually swap out with a gear pack or something, so it's not a show-stopper.
I've seen quite a few reviews and alot of people really like the figure quality so I went ahead and ordered Pandora (reissue versions), and a few weapon and gear packs. If I like Pandora enough I will probably buy the Warpath Eclipse since it looks really cool. Then eventually I'll get a couple more of the other cool ones. But I'm not gonna be going all in or army building them. I don't have the room or money for all that. But the weapon and gear packs, for all the stuff you get, at the price they are, seem to be a really good deal.
Warpath Eclipse is tempting.
i will take my points with me and see what comes of it. I like undercover Condor.
Thwipp!
@trunks3540 best thing they ever did was lowering the price down to $30. I would've skipped all of wave 4 but instead picked up like 11 figures
I got Pandora and all the guns and gear i bought today. Wow. Just wow. She is a thing of beauty. Like, holy crap. Only thing that could possibly improve her is butterfly joints. But honestly, I don't really miss them much. The sculpt, the paint, the look, the detailing. And all the info I need on her is on the back of the package. I am definitely gonna get a Warpath Eclipse now. The only thing I'm confused on, is her boots. The boot armor plates are off center. They face inward. I looked online and that's how they're supposed to be. But the art on the backcard shows them centered, and if not maybe facing outward a little bit. I'm confused if maybe they accidently swapped her boots, at least the top parts. Or if the art is just wrong. Anyway, it looks odd facing inward.
I got alot of guns. Like alot of guns. When Neo was like "we need guns, lots of guns," this is what he meant. I bought 2 weapon packs and 2 gear packs. I don't think I'll ever need to buy a gun for GI Joe, Marvel Legends, or Action Force again. I can probably build a Punisher armory now. I did get the white ones, cause it had alot of guns I wanted. But I'm gonna paint most of them black. Maybe add a silver, or some silver detailing in there, to mix it up a bit. And they seem like they're really well done. I thought the silencers and magazines would be removable for all of them but it's just some. But that's not a bad thing. Harder to lose shit that way lol. The pistols look a little skinny though. Maybe it's my perception or I'm just used to a bit fatter pistols from ML. They just look a little thin to me. But honestly I'm glad to have them all. And they weren't expensive in the slightest. Having the extra tax vests and holsters is nice too. But that's one thing I will run out of soon. Pistol holsters. And most of them on ebay aren't cheap.
@trunks3540 That's just how the boots are on the figure. Not the biggest fan of it but classified did it the same way on their figures with boot armor so I guess it's just a thing.
Praetorian and Senshi looke awesome. Can’t believe Senshi grew up in Torrance—that’s where most of my family lives!
Alright, Bobby, Furiosa renewed my love for Fury Road, so let's get some figures from both, huh?
I'd buy a couple of those. Specifically Max and Furiosa. I'm not sure which Max I'd prefer though. Tom Hardy is a killer actor and I loved his portrayel, but he didn't do much. Mel Gibson is classic and iconic but he is just such a pos irl lol. Furiosa would be the same. Sharon or Taylor-Joy? I doubt it'll ever be a concern though unfortunately.
I never pegged Vala as a big licensor, but then I remembered his White Dragon figures and the licensed Rezvani, so what do I know.
I'm curious to see how the line continues to expand. I appreciate the line is for accurate modern military figures, but I think with Wave 5 I'm at my limit for "normal modern military people." I've seen some collectors suggest he expand into militaries of different eras, but what I'd really like to see is building out the enemy factions more.
@fletch It sounds like wave 6 is gonna be entirely villains which is a ok with me
Oh, I didn't mean give them to us as licensed figures. If that was the case, I'd prefer Hasbro prices & the Classified team working on them.
I meant Valaverse seems like it could get away with "close enough" figures. So, not really Charlize/Anya or Tom/Mel, but "good enough" to pass as any of them on a shelf.
I really like the look of the Samurai guy. But I just can't pull the trigger on him and I don't know why. I think it's the color? Not 100% sure on that. I do think I may get Gemini at some point cause she looks cool. But I would like them to do an upgrade pack with a neautral face. I'll probably also get the Eclipse upgrade pack when I get the Warpath version, to get the vest that comes in that, and to have a non painted head, in case I would ever wanna display her that way. I kinda wish I could get a couple more that look nice too, but they're sold out like everywhere, and ebay they're kinda hiked up.
@thewyldman, that's twice you've out-rumored me. Where'd you hear this one? Any other details?
