Those look cool. I haven't tried vehicles, too many moving parts. I feel like the paint would just come off. But I may give it a shot at some point.
@trunks3540 Thanks.
I'm the opposite. I hate doing figures because of the joints and fewer flat surfaces. Vehicles I find easier to paint because of the larger number of flat surfaces, and the ease of taking them apart. Basically I try the sandpaper, primer, paint, clear coat method to give it as much resilience as possible. However there is always that inevitable paint rub at points where things join and move.
One day I may try my hand at dyeing parts, but that would require more time and effort than I currently have.
Light kitbash custom character:
Kamakura's masked head on Falcon with Mutt's rifle, Stalker's leg holsters, and a valaverse crossbody bag/pouch.
This Black Widow head on Scarlett makes me think of Meryl from Metal Gear Solid so I've started calling this new character Johnny.
Johnny looks great and man that widow head always looks amazing on scarlet or cover girl. I'm pretty making original characters at this point with the way they're cranking them out it's like roulette.
@boy_wonder sorry, haven't responded back. Ok, yeah didn't know if you were from here or in Europe. Recently ollies had a counter top electric stove for 30 bucks, its a cuisinart, theres a chance your ollie stil have em in the ppliance aisle.. Grab a cheap pot, spider strainer and some dye and dye figures out back while drinking or whatever.. .
Used my original Stalker to make a quick Action Force Jammer. He’ll go good with Quarrel whenever she arrives in 6000 years.
I figured Hasbro will never make a classified Bench Press so I made my own.
Recipe: Tiger Force Bazooka body, Breaker Head. Boiled and popped off neck, arms and crotch/legs. Removed all paint apps from paints and shirt. Used Rit Dye Synthetic charcoal color for the torso and shirt sleaves (thanks to ROCCOTHEGREAT's You tube channel for this idea.) Painted boots, belt and camo on pants and Boonie with Tamiya flat acrylic. Boonie from www.Gridironprops.com. Barbell from BBTS.
killer, but if you know about bench oress, then how did you not know about dying figures with rit? I never cared for this figure, but interested in making one lol.I figured Hasbro will never make a classified Bench Press so I made my own.

@unclassified Thank you. It was actually my first custom. Never thought about doing it before.
@doober he looks great but just a friendly warning, I dyed a bunch of parts with black rit synthetic dye as well and had them in a parts bin and they spread the dye to other parts through touch! so beware, either seal them or keep them separated from other figures is my advice. it might not affect you, I've heard mixed things, but it's certainly possible.
have you tried to soak the parts in water? Wonder if that would help leaching.@doober he looks great but just a friendly warning, I dyed a bunch of parts with black rit synthetic dye as well and had them in a parts bin and they spread the dye to other parts through touch! so beware, either seal them or keep them separated from other figures is my advice. it might not affect you, I've heard mixed things, but it's certainly possible.
@unclassified the dyed parts? yeah when i was done dying i soaked them in soapy warm water, then rinsed and soaked in cold water for about 10 minutes. I feel like I did everything I could after the fact, maybe using less dye in the first place would be better. next time I'm going to seal the parts with mr super clear. it's primarily that softer plastic like Hasbro limbs that spread the dye from soft plastic to soft plastic.
Did some stuff to the V2 Snake Eyes. Removed his scabbard/mudflap section and replaced it with the one from the non-retro SS. It's not accurate, but preferable. Removed his left shouldercushion but kept the ropes. I was considering replacing his head/hood with the ones from the non-retro SS also, but I'd have to paint the camo pattern and I wanted this to be a paint-free fiddle so he'll just have to deal with being the ninja with the worst peripheral vision in history.
Regardless, I am 1000 percent happier with him now.
That is SO much better than the out of the box version of that guy. That entire waist overlay they gave him was the most ridiculous thing ever and just looks hideous. I'm going to have to do the same now for sure
