Oh wow! What a cool couple of hours! Joe toy show in Grapevine TX. The 3D Toys designer is here. That talented teacher of design making amazing designs for Hasbro or whomever. He designed that 44” Terror Drome. Such a fascinating guy. Passion. Great skill. They had the Cobra mothership all 3d printed out. Big ole Snow Cats for 1:12. I just stood there and listened to him share his passion about teaching and building things that wasn’t produced like a 1:18 GI Joe battle train. So darn cool. Robo skull and skeleton toys were there. Two hours of running into creators and fans. What a blast!

Thwipp!

@prophet How would you describe the size of the Snow Cat at 1:12?

Lots of speculation about what size it would be if Hasbro does one, but in person what do you think?   How would you compare it to a VAMP or HISS?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

The 3D Printed Snow Cat seemed as large as Haslab HISS. It’s pretty big. The cockpit or control area in the front was the only thing that looked odd with the 3D printed look. The rest looked sharp.

Thwipp!

@prophet Cool thanks.

I guess that means if we do see a Hasbro offering it will be at a new price point.  I wonder if they might fudge it a bit to make it a bit smaller than a HISS?   I know the one you saw is 3D printed and they aren't necessarily the most accurate to scale, but I'm sure it is pretty close.

Just opened up the Ferret. I gotta say, I just... genuinely like it? It's a fun little toy, not going to be too tough to display, feels like a throwback to the original. For once I needed the insturctions to figure out how all the pieces went on there, but I dig it. It'll look fun next to the HISS as an outrider vehicle. The scout is fun too, nothing new but nice color swap and the fangs on the helmet are hilarious. I love how extra COBRA is sometimes.

(Oh, and I'm a few days late on the Shooter discussion but agree she's worth getting - nice figure, adds something to the team/display which can be a boy's club sometimes, and really fun to pose and set up. Had a display with her covering Chuckles' running escape for a bit. I knew nothing about the character but just liked what I saw.)

I'd love to see an official Ferret repaint that matches the HISS, that would look fantastic.  Almost forgot we're getting the TF version, too, in about a month (if the release date is to be trusted)

@vicious7171 A Transformers crossover Ferret? I hadn’t heard about that.

@docsilence those fangs made the visor look more like a vampire duck than a snake.

Lol, my Joe collection is the exact opposite of a sausage fest. Snake Eyes is the only male Joe I own. I was never big into the military type figures. I bought the old GI Joe movie figures cause I genuinely enjoyed the films and they weren't super expensive. But with limited space and the price point, I've only really been getting the girls, and the Ninjas. I'll probably order the blue Ninja 2 pack. And I have the newer Storm Shadow on preorder, but I will be modifying him a bit when I get him. But yea, Ninjas and badass women. That's my Joe collection. I may get retro Duke, because he looks decent, but I doubt I'll get too many more of the guys.

Honestly I'm the same way with the Valaverse Action Force. I have Pandora, and I will probably get Eclipse with the war paint and Gemini. The Swarm figures look cool but I don't have space to army build Star Wars, let alone a brand I know next to nothing about. None of the available male figures even remotely interest me. Honestly not 100% sure why.

He meant the Tiger Force repaint (Tiger Paw), but a TF crossover of the Ferret would be cool.  Definitely have to be a mini-bot alt character though.  Not sure which one, maybe one of Soundwave's cassettes?

That Ferret is actually pretty neat. Now that I’ve had a chance to fiddle with it, I do wish the two front tires could turn left and right. Found myself unconsciously trying to turn them from time to time. I actually have the driver and Valkryies riding on the thing with one Valkryie sitting on the non cannon side and holding on the back rail.

Turning wheels could make some more dynamic posing. I saw one of hisstank mods call turning wheels a "bs gimmick". My password expired, so I didn't bother calling him out 🤨 Besides, I'm sure I know the real reasoning it's a BS gimmick. The suspension is probably more of a useless gimmick than steering.

@mrboshek you're 100% right.  Nobody said the front wheel turning on the motorcycles in the line was a BS gimmick when it was included.  Suspension is fun but once you put the vehicle on the shelf, you're not going to use it.  I'd rather have a POA that encourages fun action poses.  "BS gimmick" lmao.  Ninja Force figures having their waists locked in place was a BS gimmick.  Wheels that turn on an ATV is not a bs gimmick.

Just saw Amazon updated Retro Beach Head to July 6. Snow Serpents still just say “ordered” but it’s a little improvement at least.

I have two BBTS packages in transit.  One of them has Torch and Gnawgahyde.
