Could it gut an entire planet to be rebuilt as a hyperspace cannon *and* fund a secret fleet of planetbuster ships?

I kinda hate that were still trying to backfill the worthless ST as canon instead of simply dumping it all as the irredeemable shit it is.  "Man, I'm diggin' this little tale all on its own bec- oh, you're just trying to make garbage not be garbage..."

That was a good finale. My son was so proud of himself. He called who the Supervisor was. I like the kids were the movers and the adults observers for the most part. At Attin is screwed. I’m torn on how the “good guys” showed up to save the day. Good show. I’ll watch it a few more times before I rewatch Andor to prepare for season 2.

Thwipp!

Yeah, Cara Dune should have been leading that charge.

THAT would have made sense.

Hmmm. I kept waiting for there to be more in the last couple episodes and it all pretty much stayed exactly on course. Once the original parameters were uniquely set, this show didn't deviate from expectations.

The finale was keeping with the Young Adult Novel approach to the series, bunch of callbacks to events and what they learned along the way that all helped in the end, getting their parents to believe them, some danger from the villain - but never quote so villainous as to have you really think he would be truly ruthless towards the kids, etc. I admit I figured Jod would come around a bit more on the "take the side against the pirates" at the end, so was a nice surprise that never happened, although I thought his frustration of "why won't you just let me have my money" played out well, and I think maybe his realization he could choose his own path now?

Overall a fun series, much better than I was expecting, and delivered what it was promising. Finale was OK but I wish we had gotten a bit more on the aftermath? I also sort of wish that Jod had revealed his backstory, maybe to Wim, a few episodes ago - I'd have liked for one of the kids to think that Jod was more bluff than anything and be somewhat right about that.

I think more aftermath would have been good too. It would have been more in line with the novels and movies this show drew from.

I also kind of knew the "Supervisor" was a droid.

It was right that Jod revealed his backstory then. Made more sense to realize why he wasn't as ruthless to the kids than to others. He still airlocked that Captain in the beginning remember? (I was half expecting some karma where he did eventually end like that)

The ending was not satisfying. An aftermath scene was needed. New Republic rangers leading pirates away in handcuffs. Jod running into the forest maybe or also captured. Parents realizing they were completely wrong about the galaxy. Maybe even Owl lady coming off the transport?

They just left things very unresolved.

Ugh, that's a terrible idea that would only reinforce the sense that this galaxy only has like 12 characters in it.  We don't even know where in the galaxy At Attin is compared to Nevarro where she was last based so you're most likely demanding something like Nightwing coming to the rescue of a bank in Monaco 20min after the alarm went off.

Finally caught up on the final few episodes of the series so I get to talk about it again!

Overall, I really liked the show.  No mystery overstayed its welcome, and the balance kept changing from episode to episode such that no episode felt like filler.

Fortunately I'm not too clever for the show, and I got to enjoy a lot of the twists and turns as they happened.  I didn't really pick up on the "Can't say I remember" bit until the start of the episode where it was revealed, and Neel's Chekhov's Gun turbolaser moment was unexpected right up until he was on the building's roof and was very well-earned.

My only dissatisfaction with the show (other than the lack of Carson Teva) was that there wasn't any clear statement that things were better for the journey.  Like, if they'd never left in the Onyx Cinder, everybody (except for Wim) would still be content and happy on At Attin with the rest of the galaxy none the wiser.  Wim did get to say that it took seeing the rest of the galaxy to realize how good it was at home, but then came back and kind of wrecked his home, so he doesn't even have that.  At least give me some New Republic person (maybe Carson?) saying that the new influx of cash is really what the NR needed to keep going, so the Great Work ultimately benefitted the galaxy as a whole.

Ultimately, I hope that Wim's dreamy final look at the X-Wings leads to him joining the Republic and we get to see this crew again some day fighting against the returning Empire.

Sure. But, if all big picture story ideas and series had come to fruition, wasn't she set to lead exactly a band of heroes like those who saved At Attin in this story? That's what I was referencing.

And I'd liken it to Luke waltzing into the Season 2 finale of Mando from nowhere with no prelude, no foreshadowing, no questioning of his identity by our lead characters and literally leaving with the second main character. And I hated it then, too. Mando letting this literal stranger to him take his *child* was some BS and then the season just ending while the other conflict was literally unresolved on the floor.

At least no one was revealed to be a secret Skywalker or Palpatine.

Caught up with the show over the past couple of nights. Enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting. Neel was my favorite character on the show. His trunk was like an entire character on its own. The plot was standard kids in danger stuff,  and there were no real surprises or anything, but it was entertaining.

I disagree it was without any prelude - a couple of episodes before Luke appeared they had Grogu "contact" the Jedi at the ruins of the Jedi temple, so Mando was expecting they might come looking for Grogu and was preparing for the fact that might be the best place for him to be. I think those characters may not have known who Luke was specifically, but he was clearly a Jedi and Grogu instinctively trusted him. And honestly, it is a bit of an unknown if Luke is a legend that people are kind of aware of?

Watched the series. Relieved I didn't have to worry about canceling preordered figures like I did with Acolyte. I'm glad others liked it. Not everything is for me, and that's okay.

So what are the chances of a Sequel Trilogy retcon now that Kennedy is retiring?  What about a *massive* Special Edition edit?

Now all those 'fans' are gonna lose their minds over yet ANOTHER woman not making good on something that was never promised.
