I actually think, before Rise of Skywalker existed, Attack was the worst Star Wars thing ever made.
Rise of Skywalker is just a clown movie you don't really take seriously. It's just...there, like Holiday Special. You already knew it wasn't going to be good but it turned out to be worse.
For me it will always be Kenobi TV show. Just because of a missed opportunity. You had the same actors, enough hours to tell a good story and you released this...You could devote all these episodes to the characters, experiences, more personal conflict...Kenobi didn't even have to leave the fucking planet. You could have focused more on the relationship between Ben and Owen, something that the prequels didn't do. You could show the other side of the Tatooine and much, much more. But the end result was a "Bad YouTube style fanfic".
Kenobi definitely had a lot of faults, but I've seen bad youtube fanfic, and this was more like great youtube fanfic! heh.
At some point I recognized the strengths of the prequel movies and stopped hating on them just because they weren't "my Star Wars" and acknowledge that it was a rock solid trilogy, but I challenge anybody who says the original trilogy was bad.
Natural dialog, convincing locations, iconic characters, effects that still hold up to this day, inspiring music, and an absolute powerhouse cast. I would say that Lucas caught lightning in a bottle if I didn't know how much everybody worked their asses off to get this movie right.
Especially when so many of them didn't believe it would be any good.
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Marcia Lucas the Wise? I thought not. It's not a story the George would tell you. It's an editing legend. Marcia Lucas was an editor so powerful and so wise that she could use her force to influence the George to create...an excellent movie.
@ibentmyman-thing true. I came to believe she, along with Gary Kurtz, were the major unsung heroes of the first movie.
When you said 'a story Lucas wouldn't tell you', I expected it to be about their terrible divorce tied to Lucas's mad quest for power! Then again, I guess he did kinda tell it in ROTS. I always respected the hell out of him for putting something so personal in there.

They weren't unsung heroes. They both received awards and nominations. I kinda believe, most people believe this crap because of the stupid "How Star Wars was saved in the edit" style videos from youtube, made by some clowns. It has tons of errors that have already been disproven by other people. Like...even if you search this on youtube, the second video "How "How Star Wars was saved in the edit" was saved in the edit (sort of, but not really)" is completely disproves it lmao. Even "The Making of Star Wars" book kinda does.
Eh, that's fine. Star Wars youtubers are something I actively avoid. Whether it was saved by her edit or not, she and Kurtz were both there to not only help him achieve his vision, but keep Lucas realistic in what could be accomplished. And when I say 'unsung', I don't mean in the industry (though Lucas did kill her career after the split), but among the fans. I think Kurtz gets some recognition but Marcia Lucas seems to be somewhat ignored beyond the edit thing.
The book "George Lucas: A Life" was one I spontaneously grabbed at the library thinking it would be boring. I devoured it in two weeks and it's THICK. Well worth reading for historical purposes and to investigate all the ways George Lucas accidentally changed the entertainment world in his desire for control.
My favorite SW of the last - gosh, 15 years at this point? - is the last four episodes of The Clone Wars. Maul, Ahsoka, Rex - just wish Padme had even a cameo. The visual storytelling alone is just so dang good. Those are four episodes I turn on when I feel like Star Warsing.
My biggest issue is how Yord found Osha apparently within 12hours of Indara's death. I can accept that the Order likely keeps tabs on failed students to know their general location and activities but him saying she was murdered 'last night' just reinforces the idea that this galaxy is fucking *tiny*.
but him saying she was murdered 'last night' just reinforces the idea that this galaxy is fucking *tiny*.
Fortunately, the whole galaxy operates on the same day/night cycle.
There are a lot of things in star wars that aren't possible, even aside from lightsabers and Force abilities.
I was paying a lot of attention but... Missed the lore breaking.[/spoiler]
Anyone else notice Torbin's eye at the end of the episode? He was out of focus but looked like he had an injury to me.
I think these Jedi are up to no good.
