Holy shit on toast, what a *fantastic* show that ended up being. The first season and most of the second is near-future cyberpunk with nations and corporations fighting over Uploaded Intelligences - humans turned into sentient programs running free on the Internet; but them last three episodes turned it into something so much more than another run-of-the-mill 'let's jack in and make custom avatars' tale. If any of you know Greg Egan's Diaspora novel, it would work very well as a prequel to that book. Do not miss this.
I binged the first season in one day recently, then discovered the second was being released just a couple days later. I've watched the first episode of the second season but got distracted by other things. I'll have to finish it.
Most of it is more-or-less traditional cyberpunk stuff but the last 2-3 episodes ramped up into something so much more.
