That concept art looks very cool, but obviously a lot of that stuff often doesn't make it into the movies. Still, if they're using the Hickman Secret Wars as their guideline it should be a very ambitious couple of movies. I believe they can pull it off, but there's a lot of groundwork that still needs to be laid.

Ross sentenced himself to the Raft because he knew he wasn't in control of Hulking out.  We viewers assume the pills were to *cause* the Hulking out but it makes more sense that they were nitroglycerin pills to calm his heart to *prevent* him Hulking out until he was put under too much stress when the Leader wanted him to Hulk out, imho.

Didn't the army guy who Sam gave the pills to in order to study them confirm that there was something in them that was causing gamma radiation or whatever? The pills clearly were altering his DNA to become a Hulk if he got mad enough, and the Leader was causing problems with the express purpose of getting Ross mad - maybe he thought that would happen when shot at, he thought it would happen on the naval ship...

Didn't the Leader gank that guy before he could finish talking?

On the other hand from what I said above, it's also plausible the Leader calculated the exact amount of pills needed to time the Rulkout to the very hour Ross would give a speech about the Tiamat incident the Leader was engineering; and that the condition was permanent.  It ain't like Banner's, Blonsky's, or Walters' conditions have been shown to be curable so there's no reason to believe Ross' would be.

First two episodes of Daredevil were pretty good, although there were some really bad editing decisions and some awful CGI in the first episode.

The tone definitely felt off at first, but the second episode felt right.

Brad Winderbaum Marvel producer confirmed

Spoiler
Daredevil Born Again season 2 spoiler

Not only Karen but also Foggy will return in Born Again season 2. He's also mentioned the Bendis/Brubaker run on the comic, which makes total sense with what they're doing on the show.

It probably seems weird for a producer on the show to reveal such a massive spoiler, but I for one really appreciate it. It's like when someone I know wants to tell me a dramatic story when I just need to know immediately if anyone is hurt. Once I know that, fine, now I can relax and actually let you spin your tale.

I just got back from seeing Captain America. The pills were the cause of Ross' Hulking out. When Sam was in Sterns' lab, there were pills for Ross along with his medical file that read something like 3 pills a day. Sam took the pills and gave them to Dunphy who gave them to someone else to have them analyzed. When that person was finished, he called Dunphy and told him the pills were full of Gamma radiation. Before Dunphy could give the info to Sam, he was killed.

As for the Leader calculating when Ross would Hulk out, I don't think you are right about that. He tried to get Ross to do it on the ship and was close to doing so. Later he met Sam in the park and said something like because of your interference I have to turn myself in so I can move my plan forward. Sterns wanted Ross to Hulk out on the ship.

They took what worked so well in Ragnarok and turned it up to a silly level that just didn't work in what should have been one of the more emotionally brutal movies with what happens with Jane.

I agree with this, the tonal shifts to silliness hurt the film, and I dislike parts of that, but still felt the opening with Gorr, the story of Jane and Thor drifting apart and Mjolnir protecting Jane, and then Jane's sacrifice but Gorr's daughter "living" and Thor taking her on - all of that was strong enough that I appreciated it.

Which is what frustrated me so much. What could have been back to back great Thor movies.

I thought there were legit funny and creative moments. The German Expressionist moment still stands out as visually engaging and fun. The stuff that works really works but the stuff that doesn't work ... eeesh. Including all the children was a bad idea b/c it prevents Gorr from really going full "Butcher" which is really his main appeal. All the Guardians stuff is bad and that started the film out. The Eternity scene at the end was affective though.

I think the GOTG Christmas special was originally supposed to be Thor & the GOTG on an adventure. The original timing makes sense, Gunn says Thor was never in GOTGv3 and why else commission a random GOTG one-off? Also, it is WAY cheaper to have one massive additional actor than SEVEN cameos!

That extra adventure also helped pay for the Bowie and Nowhere sets, but that still could have happened. And don't get me wrong - I think the Christmas Special is great and SUPER needed for both Drax and Mantis' character development.

My impression was the GOTG Christmas Special was the opposite of what you're saying. They were filming the third movie, then had the idea to do the Special on the side, folding that shoot into the VOL.3 schedule because they already had the sets.

I finally saw Brave New World. Some definite clunky parts, some "why'd they do that" moments, but overall I found it pretty entertaining. Not a great film but a decent enough ride. Not too close to the bottom of the barrel for me at least.

Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) was cast in Spider-Man 4. Guesses include Gwen, Mary Jane, Black Cat, and of course Jean Grey. But my favorite, and someone I didn't know I wanted to see in a Spider-Man movie until today, is Firestar. Throw in Iceman and I'll need new pants. Make him gay in a way that isn't easily cut out in editing, even better.

Firestar is a MUCH better option than MJ or Jean - I read somewhere about Marvel not wanting Jean to debut in a Sony film and that makes total sense.

Unless, they keep doing that weird Spider-Man movie thing of hiring a redhead but giving her the blonde role or vice versa.

Over two dozen names were announced today for Doomsday, but it's already known this isn't the entire cast. But the names we have so far:

  • Chris Hemsworth
  • Vanessa Kirby
  • Anthony Mackie
  • Sebastian Stan
  • Letitia Wright
  • Paul Rudd
  • Wyatt Russell
  • Tenoch Huerta Mejia
  • Ebon Moss-Bachrach
  • Simu Liu
  • Florence Pugh
  • Kelsey Grammer
  • Lewis Pullman
  • Danny Ramirez
  • Joseph Quinn
  • David Harbour
  • Winston Duke
  • Hannah John-Kamen
  • Tom Hiddleston
  • Patrick Stewart
  • Ian McKellen
  • Alan Cumming
  • Rebecca Romijn
  • James Marsden
  • Channing Tatum
  • Pedro Pascal
  • Robert Downey Jr.

Evans, Atwell, Holland, and Cumberbatch have also been confirmed by Deadline etc.

But if they add the Champions to this, that'll offset some. Monica and Carol are also oddly absent, especially since I imagine Monica is a big part of why the two worlds seemingly portrayed by these casts would come into conflict.
