Oddity: Enjoyable little film. I don't normally fall for jump scares, but I'll be damned if this film didn't get me--multiple times. Not sure why.
I didn't realize the main artifact was supposed to be wood until it got mentioned near the end of the film. I thought it was supposed to be a mummy. That makes a huge difference. LOL!
I saw Joker 2, I didn't like it, my expectations were probably too high I admit it willingly, but I didn't expect such an inversion. So it's very beautiful, there are a lot of interesting visual ideas and the photography is still impeccable, but the problem is the writing
Five nights at Freddy's (7 out of 10)
The first half of the movie was a 9 but the second half was a 5, the visuals were very cool (costumes) very well made movie, great nostalgia feeling but the story line killed it completely. it was slow at some points in the movie and some scenes were kinda repetitive and unnecessary. it could have been a kickass movie but the execution was bad. On the brightside, it makes me wanna get the figures now.
Merry Little Batman (10 out of 10)
Very good animated movie, the design style is simple but it works. very funny and fun. makes a great holiday/xmas movie. the Joker's voice actor is the stand out. superb movie. hopefully they will take out the figures from the movie, ill buy them.
"Red One"
Maybe the best Christmas movie since "Elf". Some of the beats were expected, but there was a LOT of this movie that surprised me.
The Road House - 2024 (3 out of 10)
This movie was pretty bad. Not a fan of McGregor so once i saw him, it lost 3 points already LOL (he is so cringe and walks like a fucking monkey) why did they put Post malone in the opening scene? and out of all the things, fighting? he is not even the "tough guy" persona, that was weird. One thing i noticed about Jake the actor is that his acting has changed, don't know if that was his goal but seems off with his acting lately, seemed too relaxed in the movie. the movie did pick up in the last 15 mins but by that time i just wasn't feeling it.
Diablo (8 out of 10)
Pretty good WESTERN movie with a plot twist which reveals itself at the mid point. I'm a huge Clint Eastwood fan and this is Clint's son first western movie so i had to see it. simple but good storyline. beautiful outdoor background scenes like with all western movies. some big name actors were involved in this film so that made it better as well. Clint's son (scott) did a decent job with the acting not better than his dad but still has time to grow.
Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended) watched over the course of roughly two months. The only fault is they didn't know how to end it. Watching a half dozen scenes with slow, dramatic fades to black only to be followed by yet another scene only leaves you frustrated. But the first 11.5 hours......legendary.
Finally caught Upgrade, and quite enjoyed it.
Ghostbusters: Frozen empire (6 out of 10)
The movie was just 'ok' they should have showed more of the ghosts, the Ice demon did look pretty cool. storyline line was just ok. The actress that did the role of Phoebe has a weird huge head, did anyone notice that? LOL. I did like when they showed the original GB's actors, those were cool cameos. should have included Slimer more into the movie also, he just had a minimal role, bad move by the stupid writers. the writers seemed kinda lazy for this film, the "Possessor ghost" was super lame design wise, they kinda copied Transformers with that ghost design. seemed very similar. The Firemaster guy was pretty funny.
Kraven the Hunter, honestly, I actually liked it, and thought it was a fun movie.
@basil-elks jeez. That's three people now I've seen like that.
heh, I'll remember it the next time I'm in the mood for something brainless then. Thank you.
Wait until you don't have to rent it so Sony's hold on the Spidey license collapses sooner.
