Season2, Part2 has started up; y'all watching?
I want to really badly, but I'm waiting for my wife to be in a mood to watch and digest it. She really liked season 1, but with the health issues sometimes it's hard for her to get into certain types of shows, so we're waiting to start season 2. Can't wait, though. LOVED season 1. So I'll be here talking about season 2 as soon as I get the chance.
The comic was fantastic, and I'm amazed at how the show is somehow even better. Really shows Kirkmans strength as a writer.
While I have an idea where it's going to go, I am still surprised constantly by the show subtle changes and development.
And while the comic was gruesome, I appreciate that the most gruesome moments in the show aren't even from the comic.
I'm looking forward to Angstrom Levy making himself known (next ep maybe?).
I read the first trade or two several years ago. It didn't click with me, so I dropped it. I wasn't going to bother with the TV show, but I heard good things about it when it debuted. I tried it and I've loved every single episode. I've been on a comic reading kick for the last year, so I'll probably give the comic another shot when this season ends.
I've gotten softer in my old age, so the violence is almost too much for me. It never seems gratuitous, though. It's just in line with the universe they've established. As with most superhero stuff, the best part is the interpersonal relationships.
The nice thing is that I've watched it relatively spoiler-free. With other big shows based on books, like The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones, I had either read the source material or had major plot points spoiled for me along the way. The only thing I know about Invincible is who Mark ends up with.
So, anybody catch the 3eps dropped yday? RexSplode is easily the stand-out character for this show, much more than he was in the comic. Jason Mantzoukas steals every scene he's in.
So nobody's watching this, eh? Next week's season finale should be balls-to-the-wall fightfightfight from beginning to end.
Hell, I didn't realize it was back. Time to watch some cartoon violence!
