Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) has been cast by James Gunn as Supergirl for Woman of Tomorrow.

Rented the Crisis pt 1 ani-movie on Prime last night.  Quite enjoyed it and look forward to more.  The art style took some warming up to and I'm still not sold on it; but it's nothing terrible.

BTS pics of Superman 2025 are starting to roll in.  I understand we can't draw many (if any) conclusions just based on BTS pics, but some thoughts:

Location shooting.  Movie sets.  No green screens (at least in these pics).  Yay!

A real cape, not CGI.  Yay!---Christopher Reeve, David Prowse, and Michael Keaton made it work, it's possible.

Red trunks.  Yay!---I'm weird in that I can do without trunks in the comics but on screen I guess I like to see them.  It takes guts on their part because let's face it, it's an outdated superhero costume element.  I like it.

Mr. Terrific looks like he's ripped right from the comic pages which hints at how they are going to handle things in the new DCCU.

The gal playing Lois looks spot-on.

I'm fine with the overall look of the Super suit but not sold on the material it's made of.  I'm getting hints of canvas Marvel suits which I can do without.  Again, these are BTS photos, so I'm going to give it a chance.

Overall looking forward to this.

Yeah, I'm not diggin' the bulkiness of it but everything else is *so* much better than the MoSuit.  Thank God for color again.  I'm assuming the wrinklefolds will get CGIed out.  I never really warmed up to Mr Terrific but that's unquestionably a fantastic look.

Is that necessary? Sincere question since I've barely read any superman comics but is his suit not just clothing?

With the Multiverse now fully established in both the MCU and DCU, studios are treating it like the do-whatever-you-want-and-get-away-with-it card that it was created to be.  Any old actor (living or dead) playing any old character can show up at anytime.  RDJ cast as Dr. Doom.  And now Jason Momoa cast as Lobo.

Because Multiverse!

To be honest, Lobo is the character Mamoa should have played, so I'm not mad.

Otherwise, I am completely tapped out on multiverse stories and stuntcasting.

I agree with your first sentence. (Although I will take his casting as Aquaman over Miller's casting a Flash).

And I agree with your second sentence.  (Yeah, that's what RDJ Doom feels like to me, a stunt.)

The entirety of the Justice League buildup (short as it was) I was saying Mamoa was playing Lobo as if he was Aquaman.  Everyone was so busy shoehorning him into the role with the polynesian affectations that they came away with an albeit fun character, but one that was nothing like Aquaman.  When they DID try to have him be the more regal stately ruler of Atlantis he felt even more naive and out of place.  He should have been Lobo the entire time.  Cavill fighting Mamoa as Superman vs. Lobo would have been fantastic, and likely the only decent piece of writing Cavill had to work with as Superman during his whole reign.  Grant Gustin is a perfectly serviceable Flash, Nathan Fillion would have been a great Hal Jordan, instead he's wearing a dutchboy wig that makes him look like Stuart from MadTv.  Some of these actors just slip into their roles easily but people are so adamant about shoehorning them into some other mold that they wont get out of the way of these characters so they can shine.

Great as RDJ was as that version of Tony Stark, I've little to no interest in seeing him as Doom or whatever else they contrive him into in a vain attempt to put butts in seats.  They'll do anything necessary but what the fans actually want...bring him back as Iron Man.  Not as a cameo, not as a hologram of a dead inventor, not passing the torch to a watered down composite knock off character with less charisma and an even smaller fan base.  You can excuse every multiversal anomaly in the universe to explain away why he's Doom.  Just put him back in the Iron Man suit and collect that Hugh Jackman "I'm Back" money.
