Let's chat about Wolverine's Anniversary!

What are you getting? What are you playing the long game for?

We know 4 sets... so far. What else might they surprise us with?

I preordered the Sabertooth set without hesitation. I think I can pass on the others.

PO'd Logan/Sabretooth and Broodverine/Lilandra immediately. Patch/Mr Fixit is a lock, as well. Patch/Lady Mandarin was the only set I was iffy on, but I'm thinking it's pretty likely at this point.

Hope to see more Wolverine-related items throughout the year.

I POed whatever's available so far. Definitely in for multiples of Sabretooth, but it has already presold out at Pulse and Amazon. Could prove to be popular.

I was really hoping for a pinless brown costume. Gonna keep waiting. And where the heck is Astonishing? I want one to match the sculpt quality of Cyke and Emma.

Just the Lilandra set for me. She’s the only figure I’m interested in. The Broodverine will go into The Box of No Return.

Only ordered the Sabretooth/Logan set.
I may get the Lilandra set, but I'm fairly happy with my custom & I don't have any idea what I'd do with the Broodverine.

Yeah... it's hard to play the guessing game on which sets might be available at a discounted price later.

Based on multiple factors I think the Lilandra/Broodverine figure would be the most likely candidate to sit around.    It's a supporting female character who many people cobbled together a workable fill in for with the head Hasbro provded previously, and a one panel (and great cover) variant that a lot of people seem to think might be superfluous for their collection.

To my tastes the Logan/Sabretooth pack is the most boring -  but often that means it will be the best selling set.

The Patch/Fix-it set is awesome in my eyes - but it will be interesting to see if buyers flock to it.

The Lady Mandarin set gives us a Wolverine they already gave us as a retro carded figure and a somewhat polarizing - and short lived -  look for Psylocke.     So that's also one that could hang around awhile.

It's just hard to tell what will struggle - but if I had to bet money on it I'd think it's the sets with the ladies.

As for what else they'll give us... maybe a Honey Badger figure in one of the lines?   She's Wolverine adjacent.

I keep wondering if they'll ever give us the space suit Wolverine that I have in 5 inch in 4 different colors -  standard gold release;  silver suit FAO Schwartz release,  blue suit CD Rom pack in exclusive and red suit SAM's club multi-pack exclusive (I think it was Sam's... might have been another store, it was a long time ago)

On the one hand it's a pretty iconic wolvie variant from the 5 inch days.... on the other hand,  there's probably not a ton of re-use potential and it would require all new parts,  so seems like Hasbro might balk.    Unless they could figure out a way to release it multiple times in the varying colors like Toy Biz did... but I think that's probably also a long shot.

I have no interest in Wolverine in a space suit, but give me that CIA/Team X version to pair with Maverick please.

Yeah... I do think that one is a no brainer for eventual release.  Funny enough that's another one I have in at least three colors -   black, blue and olive drab - in my 5" collection

Is that the Toy Biz Phoenix Saga Wolverine? If memory serves, while it was technically a tie-in with the animated series, the design of the Wolverine was based on the space suit in X-Men #25 and was worn by the whole team that went to take-on Magneto in that fateful issue. Hasbro could theoretically tool it in such a way as to lend itself to doing the whole team. It might be a longshot, but it's one of the more iconic issues of the comic from the 90s and also features Xavier's Shi'ar suit so maybe it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility.

Sure seems like if they're ever going to do a Feral Wolverine then this is the year. Not that I want one, but it's a thought and I know there are some folks who absolutely would jump at that. I mostly only collect to serve my animated series collection so if they did a civilian Logan from that show I'd give it a look.

I suppose... though I think if they tried to use the same body for Wolverine, Gambit, Professor X, Jean Grey and Rogue it wouldn't go over very well.   Even in that issue Wolverine is a head shorter in the suit than everyone else

So, I don't think they could very effectively reuse his figure for the others except maybe the helmet

Not impressed with the execution of Lady Mandarin/Pyslocke…just looks very basic. And I don't think I need to "upgrade" my Madripoor Wolverine.

Hopefully I have enough will power to only pick up if it hits discount/clearance.

In for the other 3 2-packs, even though I could do without Brood infected Wolverine...

@panthercult It wouldn't be the first time they messed with the scaling. If they utilized overlays for the chest, I could see them reusing the lower legs and maybe the arms. Wolverine, being Wolverine, gets the bigger tooling budget for thighs and maybe forearms and such as he did for the X-Men training uniform series. Xavier, Gambit, and Quicksilver could use mostly the same stuff and the women could share parts. It would also provide an avenue for re-releasing the X-Men 97 Magneto in a more comic accurate deco. Still probably unlikely, but I think there's room for hope if that's a look you really want to see and X-Men #25 is the avenue that probably makes the most sense for Hasbro.

I ordered the Sabertooth set. While I don't have an issue with the old one, like some do, this one still looks really good, and like a nice upgrade. The rest I will wait on a sale or miss them altogether. The Lilandra set looks cool but having Brood Logan without any other is kinda pointless imo. Unless they plan on making more. But I still don't care enough about the brood to buy the rest anyway lol. The Psylocke set looks fine. But ehh, not amazing. And honestly, idc about Patch and Fixit Hulk. I probably won't even get that one. The last Hulk I got was from Ragnarok, and that's cause he was the BaF. Just don't really care about Hulk much honestly, at least the Hasbro figures. Maybe I'll get one eventually. But I have that beefy one from Marvel Select and it works just fine for me. And with being out of space I need to be picky what I get anyway. I gave up on most Marvel things that aren't XMen, for lack of space and funds. Alot of the Avenegers stuff that's been coming out looks good. Just can't get it.

Anyone want Logan as the Horseman Death? I think that would be nifty, but probably too unique for Hasbro. And I would definitely get one of the Agent Logan suits from his time with Maverick. Wolverine honestly has a ton of outfits they *can* do. But most of them they probably won't.
