And the action features. Ugh.

Articulation. Articulation. Articulation. I couldn't give half a wet fart about McFarlane's pre-posed statues, no matter much paint and sculpt went in to them. My first ML figure was Deathlok. It couldn't stand on its own longer than a few hours before shelf diving. I'll never let go of that Deathlok.
The old Ant-Man was another one that I really liked. I thought he could get really expressive.

I still have my doombot variants up and was thinking of a similar mold that used the hands? were there any? im now wanting to switch the pointy fingered hands but can't recall if there's an appropriate sub to mod it for? also pulled that ml11 riders wave hulk buster. the Tony stark heads were true highlights as well. to which im happy hasbro has continued that high with their offerings of alt heads for iron man. well, maybe not the early movie figs but the comic ones yes!

I regret selling off my Toy Biz figures a little bit.  They were sitting in a bin and as The Transformers really became what I always dreamed of....and cost a lot of $$$$ it just made sense.  That Pitt figure was one of my alltime favorites.  I was so upset Diehard and Badrock were never released.  Hoping Loose Collector fleshes out the Liefeld characters he still owns and also hits Top Cow.  I think Aphrodite IX was coming.

Aphrodite IX is the one I miss. Looked up photos of the prototype a few weeks ago thanks to this thread and she had that terrible tiny waist, but she looked cool.

Speaking of Top Cow, I wish someone would make a good Fathom figure. What MAC made looked good, but that one pose was boring. Maybe LooseCollector will eventually get to Aspen Matthews! 🙂 And make a GOOD transparent water variant version.

Resurrecting this thread to show off my TBML series 2 Thor mod.  Besides the cape, I added two more disks and hit them and his helmet with a Molotow chrome pen.  He's really poppin' now!

Wasp and Giant Man came yesterday and went ahead and mixed the old with the new.  I like how it looks.

I still really love series 1 Cap and Iron Man and think they hold up really well. Thor less so, though I still remember him fondly - especially those guns he's rockin'. Your mods look good!

I thought ML3 Thor was overly textured and detailed compared to ML1 Cap and Iron Man. I tend to group Walmart Thor (Giant Man wave) with ML1 Cap and Iron Man due to the more streamlined sculpt. Both had major articulation flaws, or at least my copies did. ML3 Thor had super weak hips, while WM Thor had super weak ankles. They were good sculpts, but styles tended to be so inconsistent back then.

Did all the WM Thors have weak ankles? I thought that was just mine!

But I did the same - sold off ML3 Thor in favor of Giant-Man Thor. 🙂

I was this close to buying the new MS Cap the other day.  I think he looks great but he reminds me a lot of the TB Cap.  With me owning so many Caps already I just thought, "Do I need more?"  I left MS Cap on the shelf but it was tough.

I'm up in the air on the series 2 Thor and Walmart Thor.  Walmart Thor is a bit more clean cut, but the shoulders are tiny and yes, the ankles are weak.  I like the head on the series 2 Thor a lot.....I may revisit Walmart Thor some day (and by "revisit" I mean "buy it again".)

I'll probably end up with MS Cap but I agree with you - he does remind me a lot of series 1. That's not a knock against MS at all, more a compliment to both companies on making excellent Cap figures.

I don't mean to be a know it all, but for the record I'm pretty sure Schwarzenegger-Thor was actually TB series 3! Series 2 was Doom, Thing, Torch, Namor, and their variants.

My WM Thors ankle straight up broke. One of them is super wobbly and the other one I just glued the foot onto the leg cause there was no way I could fix it.

Yeah Thor was series 3.  But man TB seems like such a long time ago it's hard to remember the various waves.

Nice display yojoebro82

I can still name most of the figures in every wave. ToyBiz's waves are so finite, and pretty much went by numbers if they weren't going by the BAF. It's crazy how much of that is still imprinted on me.

Same. I give a lot of credit for that to MarvelLegends.net - run by former Fwoosher Waiting, I think it was? - and the wave lineup pics he would post. Whenever I picture a Toy Biz wave that's what is in my head.
