I got Moon Knight from Amazon today, I put the Blackheart head on a cheap NECA Thailog and since I only know the character from the Capcom games I’m totally happy with that.

In a nice way it’s full circle for me, for the last two decades I would look over Marvel Legends and try and figure out what would make the best Gargoyles customs… in another world I’m trying to figure out how to out Winged Venom’s upper torso on Blackhearts lower body to be a base to make Goliath…

but NECA made perfect Gargoyles for me so I don’t need to do that anymore! Now a Gargoyle base is saving me $100 to have a Good enough Blackheart until they release him as a deluxe in three years

The Capcom games are becoming more of an influence for my collection, as well. I probably only played a few hours, but that art style is indelible. I'm looking forward to picking up the new Arcade Classics game when the price drops.

Marvel Legends Strange Tales wave

Fun wave overall with some real standouts like Dracula and Blackheart

Dracula: Outstanding figure of a great character with two excellent head sculpts, great powerful proportions, a cool armored sculpt, and dynamic articulation that works with the costume. Love getting a powerful opponent for so many heroes including Blade, the Avengers, Winter Guard, and the X-Men.

Lilith Mother of Demons— Her design is so striking visually. Her figure pops with the contrasts between the pale skin and purple costume and her smokey “hair.” Nice articulation. Fun to add a brand new character to the line.

Hellstrom: Another great new addition to the line. Hellstrom has the more modern style costume that I wanted based on how I remember him from New Avengers. Great head sculpt and creepy face printing. Would have been nice to get some hellfire effects. Deltoids always felt a bit small on this body compared to the rest of the physique. Nice to get pinless joints.

Hellverine: I love this figure in person! The translucent skull covered by the shiny silver looks so cool and picks up light nicely like Transformers light-piping. The hellfire claws look great. I was surprised by how much I love this one.

Brother Voodoo: Nice upgrade on the old Dr. Voodoo figure with a better pinless body and better face printing. I was ok with the previous two versions of this figure, but this is an upgrade. This is my favorite costume for him, from New Avengers.

Bloodstorm:  I was not familiar with this character before this wave was announced. Two excellent head sculpts and some new hands. Maybe the torso is new.

Moonknight: I love Moonknight as character, but I think he needs the Vulcan or new Punisher base bodies to more accurately capture Moonknight’s heavyweight boxer physique. I appreciate getting pinless joints now. And the gold armor detailing looks very nice. The cape also looks cool with the black interior contrasting with the white of the suit.

BAF Blackheart:  Very nice upgrade to the old Toy Biz figure, which I always loved. New Blackheart has excellent proportions and some nice articulation. Shoulders are a bit stiff. He sure is spikey, as is appropriate. Nice to get this character back in the line after so many years. He really looks great.

Overall, this is a fun wave that is very timely for the season. Lots of brand new characters for the line or in the case of Blackheart, his first new figure in a very long time.

Are you able to work around the lack of ankle pivot?  Someone else here said he has ankle swivel, and I've been wondering if that can compensate at least somewhat for the lack of pivot.  If you turn his feet outwards or inwards a bit I was wondering if hinging forward and back would then become effective enough as a sort of pivot.

I thought Voodoo was on the Vulcan body because of the the ridiculous cost cutting measure of the non articulated wrist cut.  But it appears they have now done this to the Spiper UK body as well.  It's good to see they still haven't fixed the knee range, but have befouled the arms with this needless and ugly feature. Yay.  Hey, while you are at it, can you somehow fix the Shang Chi shoulders so they work with the Sunfire buck so I never have to look at those pea sized shoulders again?  Thought I would request an actually needed update while they are making useless changes to molds.

Lilith unexpectedly arrived today. I only pre-ordered her and Dracula and man, she doesn't disappoint. I didn't realize the fishnet design was on her arms as well. The 45 degree look at her head where you see the horns(?) on the side of her head really give her that sinister feel. Her evil grin and smokey hair just really set her off. My only nit is her leg fishnet doesn't quite reach her boots.

@tfitz The disconnected fishnets/boots is an issue on yours too, huh? Looks like the same thing happened on @akatsuki 's copy too.

I've really come around on this wave. All the figures I have received so far are pretty good (Lilith, Bloodstorm, Hellstrom) to great (Dracula).

The amount of detail they put into all the headsculpts is pretty fantastic.

Really filled out my Halloween display with this wave!

Plan to pick up Voodoo & MK soon to complete Blackheart.

No need for whatever this "Wolverine" is...

I've got the whole wave in hand now and my favorites are Hellstrom and Lillith. Bloodstorm and Dracula are very good as well. The Moon Knight and Voodoo figures are probably the best versions of those characters they've put out so far also, but I'm also still kind of peeved about having to buy them again. I did buy Weapon of Vengeance also but I haven't been able to bring myself to even open him yet. He may stay in the box. I originally skipped him in my pre-orders but caved after reading some of the recent Daken/Akihiro as Hellverine story even though I know that this is the Logan version.

So are there two versions of Hellverine Weapon of Vengeance? Logan and Daken?

It's not all of them then? I'll have to look for her in person if possible to find a good one.

Yes, but since Daken is skinnier and taller than Logan, I can't see this as any version other than Logan.

And they made it pinless to ensure we see that body for years to come.

Updating it without fixing the knee articulation or giving it butterfly joints is infuriating. I won't buy anything on that body going forward.

Question about Brother Voodoo's staff.  I've had this thing for five years on the Dormammu figure, but it wasn't until a recent review that I realized that the two thingies coming off of the side of the staff are goblin-like skulls that appear to be flying out of the staff.  If those are little demons coming out of the staff...shouldn't he be pointing it with those things going towards his enemies?

I've always put his staff as shown in the pic below, but now I'm thinking that the energized end is supposed to go in his hand so that the demons are flying away from him.  Or am I missing something about what the staff's power is supposed to be?

Same curiosity about that staff. As is, it makes no sense. I’ve cut the spirit heads off on a previous Brother Voodoo.
