Should have the new set tomorrow. Young Vulture kind of cracks me up but he's nice to have (I do prefer old grumpy grampy pants Vulture). I'm happy to have the Spidey just because I am always a sucker for having the option to display masked and unmasked at the same time and this is probably the only chance we'd have to get the animated Peter head on the Spider-suit without buying two figures and kitbashing, so it works for me personally.

Bummed to hear the line is retiring - I was hoping we'd see Felicia too. Maybe a civilian/costume two pack but that's a pipe dream, they'd definitely split her up. (Though man, if they did that with most characters I'd buy the heck out of them.)

I just ordered the Vulture and Spidey set!  This particular Vulture design always resonated with me, Sure it's "Very 90's", but it looks cool and the "life-sucking" gimmick actually made Toomes more threatening than the "slightly stronger flying old guy"! I still find it odd that they didn't make his pulse-gun removable like the 5" figure from the 90's,  but ah well! The Spidey is just a bonus really,  as I love the Animated design (minus cel-shading!) And do not have the "Renew Your Vows" version ( AF#15) tends to be my default,  as I love the red and black!

Wait, did they say that during the livestream?

I haven't purchased anything from this line, but I would've gotten a Black Cat. Felicia is perpetually on my wishlist.

Yes, this line is dead.

Which is fucking stupid, сonsidering they didn't release the most popular characters. People have asked them many times to release Animated Chameleon, Mysterio, Punisher, Black Cat on a new body. Nothing...silence. But hey, how about another HYDROMAN? Maybe another Strange? Or Carnage?

I didn't expect anything else from them. Sometimes this team can put out amazing figures, and sometimes they're so incompetent it's like they...don't even care.

Like this Vulture looks great. I really wanted this animated version of him and they delivered. Right before they ended the line. Feels like a spit in the face.

For the record I believe that they said they were going to take a break and there wouldn't be any more in 2024, but that they hoped to do more in the future. It was kind of similar to the statement they made about pausing the X-Men animated VHS line right before they announced the X-Men '97 figures. There is Disney+ animated Spider-Man show on the horizon, remember.

They’ll still be doing the animated figures, it just sounds like the specific VHS box sets are being retired.

At least there is still hope to get something good...

I'd seen posted several places that they were retiring the line but was psyched to see Dan repudiate it today (and I believe him, he never steers us wrong). Guessing someone said something during the stream that was misinterpreted and it spread pretty far. Great to hear the word was wrong - really hoping to see Black Cat soon! (Hard to believe it's darn near October - 2025 really isn't that far away.)

No. The line is over. They said it on PulseCon. Dan probably meant they will continue to release individual figures based on the animated series. Like Kraven, Prowler and First Retro Venom. On a single retro card.

We don't have to wait long to see if what he says is true. They've already shown us one Chameleon mask on PulseCon. The problem is, he didn't have them in the Animated series...

I thought I'd be able to use the Vulture 2pk Spidey as a catch-all general Spidey. But he has too many Animated series design queues, like the head sculpt, the lack of black web lines where the blue and red separate on the torso, the lack of webs around the chest spider emblem. It looks too animated for me, so this will become my default Animated Spidey. He fits better proportionately.

And while I DO prefer the neck articulation he got, it's true, that torso pivot is missed! I like using that as a waist swivel because it doesn't break the sculpt as much as the traditional waist swivel. I do like that he's pinless at least. The retro carded Walmart Animated Spidey works better as a Spidey and his Amazing Friends for me.

2pk Vulture looks almost too nice. So much effort for a figure like him, a relatively niche design that isn't particularly popular.

Y'know its funny. About two years ago, I was seeing kitbashes from 987customs and he was mixing and matching parts from the RYV and Cyborg spider-man in order to create that "perfect" 616 adult peter parker Spider-Man build and that is basically this design for this new animated spider-man. I remember that figure got so many people hyped and they wanted to see Hasbro take that exact figure. And indeed they did to an extent. And it ticks all of the boxes that are a requisite for how Spider-man is portrayed in the show. He has the taller build, broader shoulders, darker colors, (which are perfect for creating those nighttime sequences in the show when Spider-man's color palate was a little richer) Also I feel like the masked headsculpt is such a huge upgrade from their first attempt. I personally feel like the articulation design isn't a hindrance in this instance. Especially since most of the figures in this line have the classic style of articulation outside of a handful of characters (like Black Costume spidey, Daredevil and I guess you can also count Scarlet Spider?) I personally don't mind using this figure as both my classic 616 Spidey and the animated design. I did the same thing for peter parker when that figure came out last year.

Chameleon and Mysterio are the two biggest omissions, for the villains.

Well we also need a toon accuratre Silvermane, Kingpin, Rhino, a bigger scorpion, toon accurate hobgoblin, Herbert Landon, Tombstone, Hammerhead, toon accurate lizard, Spider-Carnage, Blade's mother, Baron Mordo, Human Smythe in his hoverchair, Man-Spider, Richard Fisk and Big Wheel.
