@ru1977

I will say, one thing that lends credence to your theory and did catch me off guard a little was that Ock's packaging had Spider-Man 2 on it instead of NWH. His and Andrew's were the only ones to have the artwork be from their original movies, not NWH. Which leads me to believe that you may be right, and they'll release a NWH Ock with the red nanotech tentacles later on down the line (probably in an Amazon pack).

I don't mind them re-doing some figures with different paint schemes or whatever, but if that's the only way to get Electro and Lizard, and we have to buy another set of figures, be they the villains or Spideys again, then Hasbro's playing dirty. I'd expect such shenanigans from the Star Wars team, but not the Marvel team, so hopefully it won't be as needlessly complicated.

@e-rock Never say never. Many had given up hope on some of the figures that eventually got released in the Infinity Saga wave. We know from experience it's never too late for Hasbro to go back and pull from past movies, and the recent Ned/Peter set shows that Homecoming is still on their mind. Shocker, I think, could also benefit from having swappable heads as well. Even if it wouldn't be entirely accurate costume-wise, since I don't think the actors wore the exact same clothes, having both versions means (in theory) selling twice as many.

@joshsquash729 I noticed the SM2 label on Ock as well. How they're branding them is confusing, so there has to be legal mumbo jumbo. I can easily see a repaint of Ock later in a 5 pack with the red, though. That would be an easy one.

If Foxx has a likeness issue, they could always bypass it by just having the head have the mask of bolts he had for like 2 seconds and have that be the only head, lol.

True, but both those characters are more minor ones. I would have more hope for a future Multiverse Saga line to have a NWH May than I have faith in Hydro Man or Shocker, sadly. Though I would be happynif they happen. Several guys like Strucker or Shocker fall on that secondary/minor villain level where I want them but they're so minor I don't think Hasbro will ever do it lol. Why I am focusing more on the main villains they still haven't made

That's a good point about the tentacles. I imagine there are tweaks they could do to all three of these villains to make them 'new', but I always come back to the Black Order set. Two repaints and three upgraded figures.

Yeah, I think Ock has the most obvious repaint you could do. I think having different heads and such may be what you would do for the others. Like, maybe a laughing head for Osborn? Stuff like that.

Hasbro have killed it with their foray into bendable tentacles. I know many have an issue with the Animated Series Ock's tentacles, but once properly inserted into the back, they are sturdy and the length is fantastic, and the same goes for this Ock too, so much more options for dynamic posing.

I've seen the PWToys Octopus Man and the Hot Toys Dock Ock and while they look like nice, the tentacle length is garbage and they'll only look decent in a menacing "come closer to my face so that I can get ahold of you Spider-Man!" sort of way, which is disappointing.

Gotta give it to Hasbro on their attempt at GG. Their choice of expression makes that figure so much more preferable to the bored in the board room expression they gave Norman.

Toyark says Norman will be $50. I don't see anything for Ock but I assume the same price?

If I were a betting man, I think Ock will be 35-40. Similarly priced as Gladiator Hulk. Norman has the glider, so I can see him being more

As far as the SM2 and TASM2 branding goes it has to be about likeness rights.

Sony isn't like Disney with that stuff all built into an ironclad contract.

Garfield is also notorious for being a little bitch about his likeness, it's probably the same with Molina and they did some gymnastics by branding as older movies where the rights would be cheaper.

I'm glad with the Lizard and Electro teases that there's potentially more, still holding out hope for Aunt May (it won't feel right without her).

It's funny to me that Thomas Haden Church's likeness seems to be the best out of all the figures in the wave even though he's made out of sand. They totally screwed up Tobey Maguire and Charlie Cox imo.

DaFoe's is really good too but I wasn't counting deluxes. Granted, I think Alfred Molina's likeness is kinda meh. Not bad, but not great.

Yeah, the Matt figure seems like one of those that looks really good from certain angles. It's really hard to not get that figure as it's one of my absolute favorite comic adaptations of one of my favorite comic characters. but I just can't get on the unmasked train again. I did order the final swing figure but already promised the Tom head to a friend.

As far as the villains go, I'm really excited for the three we're getting. I still have the ASM Lizard so I'm fine with just Electro sometime. I just got Kingpin recently, so those two along with Venom, Vulture, and Mysterio are gonna look so awesome with Sandman, Norman, and Doc Ock. The only other villain I absolutely need to appear on screen and get a figure is Hobgoblin, who was a big deal when I started reading ASM. No, not Ned and Ned wasn't really Hobgoblin in the comics anyway. I really would prefer tying in with The Rose and Fisk with Hobgoblin as a mob enforcer. Could be the big screen debut of Black Cat and guest star Daredevil as well.

They easily could have Hobgoblin steal Norman's tech. It had to go somewhere after he was poofed.
