Great pics Akat! Really excited to get this set. I need to pick up another Commander Rogers! Kinda funny to be  recreating a kitbash from over ten years ago (Ult Nick Fury head on the Commander Rogers from the Terrax wave). Round and round the collecting wheel goes!

@h-bird Please know that Commander Rogers has the wrong flesh tone neck and hands so some mods will be necessary to really make the Nick Jr head swap work full-time.

@akatsuki Thanks Akat! The Terrax wave figure was the same - at the time I hastily slapped some paint on but was never happy with the results - hoping I can do a little bit better this time.

Fury Jr in that outfit also seems like an easy/obvious figure for them to make an official release of eventually - but I thought the same thing after the first Commander Rogers release!

My sets just came in! Well, there will be no gear swaps because the gear plug specifically into each male torso, and Dugan is MUCH thicker while still jacked. I love the representation for  thick-bodied buff guys!! Classic Nick is just fine on the non-painted neck, Sharon is great as-is with the hair-down head, and the hair-up “evil”-looking head is great on a Hydra lady body. Sooo many hand options!! I need to try some of these hands on Angel to replace the giant hands he comes with. Between this and the Morbius/Strange set which arrived yesterday, it’s a GREAT weekend for Marvel Legends, and most of the Zabu wave and some of the retro Iron Man wave will be here today/tomorrow as well!

Oop! Messing around with the sets and I have decided I also like OG Nick’s head on the chonky Dugan body. I actually feel like mixing and matching between sets gives me two distinct Nicks: svelte, Steranko-style superspy Nick and grizzled, older, thick-with-muscle Director Fury. I will absolutely take both!! Junior is growing on me, but I still want to find a good trenchcoat body to throw him on that isn’t super-skinny. Bunhead Sharon really does sell as a Hydra lady; feels very Ilsa Schneider from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Anybody try the MCU head on Sharon? Does it work?

Just got my set. Gonna post little by little and edit per post because typing a long post on my phone is futile when the page reloads and I have to start all over again.

Set comes with so much stuff. I’ll get to accessories in a bit.

Sharon looks good. The long hair down looks less sinister than the tied up bun head. The long hair head looks almost exactly like the DC Direct Alex Ross Black Canary. I needed a refresher on how great this Black Widow body is. She comes with the same smallish pistols, but neither are big enough for her thigh holster.

Dugan is awesome. He has a different torso than Fury, but the same limbs from Vulcan. Head sculpt is outstanding. Neither has a sheath for the knife. Again, wider hip holsters hold the black side arm without the clip well. The gun with the clip fits awkwardly.

Fury has an excellent head sculpt and new torso as well. I think both figures have new gloves and boots too. Lots of new parts. I already popped the Junior head onto a Cmdr Rogers body with the neck repainted and new hands from an Eternals figure and a grip hand from Brother Voodoo.

@normdapito Nice review Norm! I know what you mean. I have to type longer posts into my phone’s notes feature and then copy and paste them into Fwoosh otherwise my posts get erased and I have to write them again from scratch.

This is what I’d like to do too! Any recommendations for the hue/paint you used on Fury Jr’s neck? I don’t typically paint the figures myself but this seems like a small fix.

You could approach it a couple different ways. I painted with Testors model paints (which are now discontinued) but I mixed brown with a bit of blue to get it a bit darker and cooler for Junior's skin tone. If painting isn't for you, you can also try to remove the Caucasian flesh tone with acetone. Apply it to a cotton swab, gently twist the swab as you make contact with the paint. With several swipes, probably about 3-4 Q-tips worth, you wind up with an all-blue neck. The only issue is the neck hinge, which is mostly blocked by his jaw anyway.

I want to try that Sharon head on Butterface Sue from the FF retro wave.  I long ago replaced that head with a different one but this one might be better.  I just wonder if it is Sue-enough or does it look more Emma Frost.

I'm curious to see where else they use that Dugan torso.

It's a VERY specific torso, and I'm not sure how much reuse it'll get. It's portly, but not overly so. BUT it also has gutters sculpted into it for the white harnesses to sit in so they don't slide around. If they reuse the torso, they've gotta cover that stuff with new harnesses of some sort. Same with Fury. I think they'll just wind up being SHIELD or generic soldiers if anything else at all.

Both Sharon Carter heads sport a lot of dark eye shadow as part of the print. Bun head has eyebrows that are more furrowed. From my point of view, neither really work as Sue Storm for me. I was always very happy with the face sculpt for the Walgreens version, and its reuse on the modern costume figure. I'm not that offended anymore by the factory head on the retro Sue, but I also stocked up on the invisible variant, so that's usually what I display (for both the Negative Zone team and Walgreens).

I'm planning on the long-haired head for Emma Frost, the bun-head I don't particularly like (but we'll see in person), so I may just stick an extra Target Black Widow head on Sharron.  I really only bought the packs for the Shield suited figures.
