The existing masks don’t fit into her hood without some kind of support or adhesive. She can really only hold them in her hands. I wish they gave her a new hollow satchel to store them in. They did it for Indians Jones.

I picked up Scarlet Spider at Gamestop today! Such an upgrade to the Pizza Spidey ones! It's my first Spidey on the RYV body. They did a great job on the overlay hoodie to allow for the full torso articulation. I don't really think the RYV is really much of an upgrade over the original Retro Spidey just because it has toe articulation but it is great having a better Ben Reilly. Being a pin less Spidey is way awesome though and I suppose that's cooler than original retro at least!

@enigmaticclarity I mean, I would think it would be more true for future serial killers to not want female action figures. That's incel energy, which has proven to be factually dangerous.

You're mostly right, although with two qualifications--he said that perhaps serial killers begin when parents bring female superheroes home to their little boys when 99% of them want a male action figure, plus he was smiling when he said it so it was clear he was kidding which Shartimus picked up on and immediately laughed because he could tell Todd was trying to say something shocking.  I probably discounted it knowing he didn't really mean it because I'm used to him liking to stir the pot over the decades.

Below is a link to that point in the interview.  The link is to where his point about selling female figures at retail begins, and he doesn't make the serial killer comment until about 3 minutes later.  I certainly generally agree with his overall point that little kids are HIGHLY gender-biased with girls overwhelmingly wanting girl figures and boys overwhelmingly wanting boy figures.

this joke i found really unfortunate personally.. it wasn't funny and quite cringey.  But i've also never liked Todd, he's always come off like a D#$^ to me.

I do have to say, Hasbro is really killing it. I truly can't get over how well done these recent figures are

already have some figures of the year that are going to be very difficult to top

- Sabertooth

- Angel

- Jack O-Lantern

- Scarlet Spidey

- Lilandra

- Lady Mandarin

even the head sculpts on the new logans are just outstanding.

OK...  now that we have this retro wave in hand....   what are the odds on choices for the next Spidey wave?   Where can or will they go next?

Is there any chance we get a comic/cartoon based Madame Web after the movie face planted so hard?

I was looking over the old Toy Biz 5" line trying to figure out what else they could do that they haven't hit yet:

Chameleon (jumpsuit)

Swarm

Scarecrow

Kaine

Spider-Cide

Wasp (insect style)

Doppleganger

and a bunch of wacky Spider-Man variants

and while I'm here - we need a redo on the terrible Man-Wolf they did in the 6" line

From there, though,  they'd really need to start mining the comics as there's still plenty of characters from the books that haven't had figures  -  Will o' the Wisp comes to mind... just sayin'.

So what's the next line up people want to see?   Is it all just redos?

My vote for wacky spider variant goes to the spidey with Ock arms and glasses from the finale of Spiderman the Animated Series.

I'm really hoping for a classic Kaine

/revision/latest?cb=20191126063347

And Sensational Spider-Man (IIRC the last time we got a ML of him was way back in the Ares BAF wave)

/revision/latest?cb=20170623144835

Animated Chameleon and Vulture are big wants of mine

For female characters a civilian MJ (only available previously in the TRU 2 pack) and Screwball would be good

I NEED Dr. Octopus in his suit and tie, from the early 90s look. He's a MUST HAVE for me.

This has to be coming soon.   It's not even hard to make using existing pieces.   Hasbro has to have this on tap for the near future

Isn't that the Ben Riley spidey suit from the 90s? Wasn't that done on a retro card a few years ago? Would be nice to get it updated on the RYV buck

@jag2045 @fenrys

The retro card release of that costume was on the RYV body IIRC. From 2022 and released as "Ben Reilly Spiderman". Same wave as Armored Spidey and updated Hammerhead.

The retro release predates the RYV buck, it's not pinless and lacks the toe articulation.
