I'm excited that Amazon ISN'T shipping these yet, since Pulse is dumping 3 legends 2-packs, Angel Deluxe, a wave of G.I. Joe Classified and a $100 G.I. Joe Vehicle all within two weeks, the last thing I need is this shipping on top of that.
I know it happens every year but this post-Chinese New Year product dump from Pulse is brutal.
OH, that's why it happens like this. I figured there must be some reason. That makes sense.
Amazon is still showing these as an early May release. Will be surprised if they stick to that.
I don't know why I split this wave between Amazon and pulse but getting half the wave shipped from Pulse today is actually kinda nice - enjoy the first three while waiting for the rest.
Of course the way Amazon ships they could drop them tomorrow and get here first, so who knows.
Scarlet Spider is everything I've wanted since the first promo photo of the original Scarlet Spider from the old Classics line (what we ended up getting was very different - and of course I can't find a photo of it anywhere now).
It's phenomenal.
I prefer the darker red on the Pizza Spidey Rhino BAF version, but otherwise this version is phenomenal.
I compared the neck assembly to RYV Peter, and while they look identical, Ben gets more range for some reason (not that I'm complaining).
I’ve opened Hallow’s Eve, Old Man, and Assassin so far. The rest have been delivered but I’m waiting for extras to see which cards shall be kept mint.
Eve is interesting. Didn’t realize she has a fully sculpted hairdo under the hood, which is totally removable. I like the masks, wish she could store them in the satchel.
Old Man is ok. Weakest of the bunch, but I’m happy to add to the Spiderverse.
Assassin is also nice. Reuses the blast effects from Wonder Man’s belt for his bullets. The figure itself reuses the retro Spidey body with pinless limbs. I dig him a lot.
Got Ben, Last Stand, and Jack today. I was worried about Last Stand's ROM because of the jacket/chest construction, but his waist joint is pretty good - still not nearly enough ROM for a Spidey, but really better than I expected. I've always loved this design for him too so I'm psyched they made him.
Ben: the old Pizza Spidey version has eternally lived on my desk since I got him, but this guy is a 100% upgrade. I like how the overlay with the hoodie works with the joints underneath the hoodie. Beautiful figure. I do agree that the darker red on the older version is stronger, but that's about the only thing I'd change.
Jack O'Lantern was the figure I cared least about in this wave but he really is well done for what his is. I particularly like how securely he holds his bomb/grenade.
Got these three from Pulse and just saw the rest of the wave is shipping from Amazon right now. I'm going to get OBLITERATED by shipments on Monday from Amazon.
My second Tombstone arrived, so I have one to open. Love this new suit body. But the neck situation sucks. It plugs into the collar, so the head and neck are solid. He pretty much can only look left and right, no up or down. That’s a step backwards. At least give a swivel hinge at the base of the skull. Otherwise, great figure of my preferred look for the character.
Got Scarlet Spider from BBTS yesterday. He's nearly perfect -- the one thing holding it back is the shade of red. Almost looks orange-ish red in some lighting; a deeper red would have been preferable.
Tombstone is sitting in my pile of loot. I'm waiting for Jack'o'Lantern to arrive before shipping.
Got so many figures from Pulse lately.
The Daredevil and Hydro Man set is cool. The shading on Daredevil looks cool, and the poseability is excellent. Hydro Man looks awesome in translucent blue with the lighter shading. His head a sculpt has a lot of personality.
Last Stand Spider-Man and Spider Shot won the fulfillment race for all of the recently shipped items - beat the rest of this wave, all of the Wolverine 2-packs, Angel, even the boatload of Classified that are all supposed to arrive today.
Have to say - I don't hate them. As far as spider variants go these at least bring something a little different to the table. Really excited to get Hallow's Eve in today, though. She seems like she's going to be fun.
Spider-Shot and Last Stand were probably the two Spider-variants I wanted the most recently (aside from the black and red "dark" look from the first Playstation Spidey game). Neither one of them is a groundbreaking sculpt but they just get the job done and I love that. Just got Spider-Shot from Amazon and this was probably the fastest I've popped a figure out of the package in years. They're both going to be permanently on the desk, I think, along with the new Scarlet Spider (who is swapping out the Pizza Buck one who's been there forever).
Got Tombstone, too, who looks great - nice upgrade from the older version, great to have him in a proper suit.
