I'm so underwhelmed by that Sentinel.

At first I was mad at the size, as if trimming 4" off the HasLab Sentinel world suddenly make it fit on my shelves.

But then I saw how hard they leaned into the animated style by just smoothing out any kind of detailing. It looks really boring for a 6" figure, let alone something that massive.

This is a perfect Bronze Age Sentinel, and that’s who I’ll be displaying it with. I don’t think I’ll army build, due to price and lack of space, but if I change my mind, I will make separate orders which I can cancel if necessary.

I'm glad you posted this. I'm thinking of ordering three, but I know that's too many and I might need to adjust before they ship. I would not have thought to do separate orders!

I try to learn from my bad impulses. I ordered FOUR Dragon Man figures. Can’t really remember or explain why. But if I want to cancel one or more, I’ve gotta contact Pulse. There’s no option to cancel a quantity. It’s all or nothing, and I don’t want to lose my order.

Which should mean the blast effects will also fit on the Haslab. Damn. DAMN. I thought I was done. I thought I didn't need any more sentinels. One more. Just one more...

I don't *need* this one, and thankfully I'll have a year to change my mind, but the physical photos from the show floor convinced me. It really does look good, and far less flat than the digital renders make it.

Port sharing between the Sentinels is brilliant! After seeing the pics of the mockup, I'm def. in for 1. I may cave for 2 before pre-orders end.

I was advocating for a Byrne style Sentinel and this fits the bill better than the other prior large-scale releases to be sure, so I almost feel bad that I may pass on this. Maybe. Feel free to refute the below comments and talk me into it...or offer advice.

Two things that are giving me pause: I am not sold on the painted but not sculpted designs around the collar and on the torso - I get it for the animated style, and don't mind painted details on the 6" figures, but here I am not convinced it will look right in person at such a a large scale - this really is more the animated version. I also don't see this working with the HasLab Sentinel, given the differences in detail and paint colors/finish, plus the height, these are too different to pair with the HasLab as Master Mold and these as his Sentinel offspring.

Which leaves me in a quandary - so I skip these, and maybe go back and get a couple more of the MU versions that have the same look and feel as the HasLab and say that the HasLab plus matching 15" versions are it; or do I flip the other Sentinels, including the MUs and HasLab, and use the proceeds to go in on a 3-4 of these guys; or do I hope that maybe they release this new version in  the HasLab metallic paint scheme and a more detailed head in a few years...?

Have you seen the pics of the physical model they were showing off today? It looks to me like the details you are talking about are actually sculpted, unless I'm misunderstanding. I initially thought those details were painted based on the render, and that would look just terrible for something so big with so little detail - but I think they're sculpted.

Style wise I think they'll fit with the Haslab being Master Mold. I generally want figures as accurate to the page as possible, but I don't have a very strong attachment to any one version of Master Mold as being iconic - the closest I can think of is the TAS version, and that design would be an eyesore for such a big figure. The head is the only iconic piece of the design, and the Haslab nailed that. It kinda works for me in theory that Master Mold would be way more intricate/advanced than his Sentinel spawn too. I'm sure they'll get us some comparison pics in the coming weeks though!

This is part of the new model where they only make as many figures as we preorder. If you miss the boat, better hope people change their minds about what they initially ordered if you want one later and the window for preorder has closed.

This is why I will probably only order one and roll the dice on a second when they finally release.

Hasbro has done this model a limited number of times so far and in almost all cases there is stock that ends up on Pulse after the fact.   Boba Fett's (or Jabba's) Throne room from the TVC line is a prime example.   It was a preorder (made to order) and after it finally released it was on sale on Pulse for quite some time until it sold out thanks to the annual Pulse sale.

Now I don't think that will happen with the Sentinel (stock available until a sale), but I have no doubt they'll have stock available after shipping due to cancellations, declined payments and the necessary production cushion for any issues/defects.

@fac, I think Hmmberto's right.  Looking at zoomed images, there does appear to be grooves and ridges where I thought there was only paint.  They're kind of shallow, and it's still a pretty smooth surface for a 22" figure, but I'm starting to see it now.

My vote is, go ahead and order one.  Worst case scenario, you sell it next year and make, like, double your money back.

I decided to preorder a 2nd as I don't want the hassle or possible extra expense later on to track another down.
