@fac I still think the Retro Sentinel they released was one of the best (closest) representations of the Byrne Sentinels. If they could go that route I would be more than happy with that option.
Thinking about that picture with the footprint stand, it looks like this Sentinel will be bigger than 12". Can't wait to see it revealed later today. Unless it is a swerve by the ML team and we see maybe Apocalypse, or someone else that can be that big.
Since shown with the X-Men 97' lineup I think it's safe to assume they're going to be the classic look from the Byrne era and show. They can definitely get away with 12", as in XTAS Sentinels were shown in varying sizes, and they then upped their scale in 97' to something more consistent with the Haslab Sentinel.
I already have afew of the Dioramax Sentinel kits, but who can have enough 12" scale Sentinels, so please Hasbro help us out and stick to the classic design!
I'd be shocked if the Legends version of the X-Men '97 Sentinel ends up being shorter/smaller than the 5POA one they did for the Epic heroes line that was 14" and $25. I have 5 of those and really like them. I know that I saw them get as low as $18 at least also. This one will likely be somewhere between 16"-24" and several multiples of that $25 price point. I can't imagine anything less than $100 and could be as high as $250 if it includes electronics (lights/sound). We'll find out soon!

This would be an idiotic misstep by the Legends team and I don't think there's any chance they would risk it.
Why on earth would they risk asking a HasLab price for a non-HasLab offering. Sentinels are meant to be army builders but people cannot build armys at $250 a pop. Even at $100 each it's a stretch for most, but given the size and the current market, we get it. As a customer I would be PISSED if they chose to double the price to include electronic lights and sounds that frankly I don't give a crap about. I want several of these. Doubling the price means I buy fewer... maybe none.
I really don't think the team is foolish enough to go this route this soon with this new price point niche.

I agree, the Retro and even the X-Men 97 cheaper version are the style I really want and I would gladly move on from the Gigantic Battles and old Toy Biz BAF versions if we get a 12" to 15" Byrne stye to stand around Master Mold. I'd be in for at least 2 and maybe 4.

He's definitely not my top "big guy" want, but the 90s Avengers they've made have very much put that Giant-Man on my radar. I never really liked that design but something clicked for me recently and now I kind of love it - would love to see him made to go along with Sersi, Back Knight, grey Widow, Thunderstrike, and the inevitable 90s Crystal. And whoever else they want to make from the era.
Yeah... I'm sure it has to be on their radar, but even if it's not, the cheap extra Sersi 2-pack I just picked up with the extra Crystal head from the lockjaw set and some fodder parts is gong to make an Avengers jacket Crystal in a quickness. I have jacketed Black Knight, jacketed Sersi and jacketed Black Widow already. Need that Giant man, a black tank top, long hair Hercules and a Deathcry to really round out that display.
But as is - I'm just the Crystal mod away from this cover
Good call on Deathcry! Would love to get her. Put her in the pile with Hepzibah and Feral with cat-ladies they need to make. I'd take Hercules in the black tank top, or in the silver or gold football pads he wore for a while.

Yep, 22 inches for $175. That's probably fair. I'm glad they didn't include any unnecessary electronics that would have bumped up the price even further. I would have loved a cheaper alternative, but I'll likely still buy 2 of these. It will go well with my 4 HasLab Sentinels, 2 Marvel Universe Gigantic Battles Sentinels, ToyBiz Sentinel BAF, 5 Epic Heroes X-Men '97 Sentinels, 3 retro card sentinels, 2 arcade sentiels and how ever many human sized Sentinels I have. Can never have enough Sentinels, right?!?
That is exactly what I was hoping for with this reveal. Though the size is a bit big for my tastes and the price reflects that. Still all-in-all it looks great and I'll be getting one for sure. I'm a bit surprised by the lack of reveals for ML, and I have to say the Joe team won the day (those Classified reveals are going to curb stomp my wallet next year).
