American Panther

An aspiring entertainer and football player, crippled by gang gunfire.  With a revolutionary exoskeleton he was granted a new life as a Hollywood hero

My goodness, take away my comic nerd card. I'm unfamiliar with all of these guys. Appreciate the blurbs- I love learning about new-to-me characters. Out of these, Volcanus appeals to me the most because of his old school design. Might pick him up. Would pass on the other two.

@akajomiha

To be honest, I come across some of these characters just by pursuing sites.  Both Volcanus and American Panther were new to me.  I hadn’t encountered either in my reading days.  Found them in Comic Vine listings and did a little digging.  I get a little kick out of bringing these obscure characters back into the light, to give them some exposure to other readers (past & present).  Marvel (and DC) have such a rich history of characters, some just get lost in the shuffle.

@detectivehoag Agreed- I used to think I knew all the characters because I pored over the OHOTMU when I was a kid/teen in the 80s, but so many never made it into those old handbooks.

The only one that I did recognized was American Panther, cause his story arch took place, after Black Panther briefly took over for Daredevil, in the Aftermath of Shadowland.

I tried to do the ending as a spoiler, but even in the spoiler brackets, it still showed what I wrote, without hiding it.

Amercian Panther as a design is something that tugs at me, but reading up on him - yikes.  Volcanus would be good in a BAF wave.

Yeah... I'd buy the American Panther figure -  you know why.

Volcanus has that sort of vaguely kirby design that just works  and would make a decent figure even if I'm not familiar with the character

Couldn't have said it better myself. Ditto.

Hey everyone - I'm back, sort of.

I'll start posting again on Sunday with a little different format.

Many thanks to @detectivehoag for keeping the thread going!

I'd pass on Hit Maker.

I'd pick up American Panther because I like the look.

Volcanus would be great in a baf wave I wanted.

B-2

today were doing a little dimension hopping. We’ll start with:

the sorcerer supreme of the Purple Dimension.  A despot who tricks other beings into his realm to make slaves of them.

Aggamon

next we’ll stop in the Ultraverse, and check in on a man who fancies himself the instrument of balance between good and evil, countering every good deed with a bad deed, and vice-versa.

Double Edge

finally, we’ll be returning to the main Marvel universe.  He’s the leader of The Claws, and an enemy of Hawkeye and Mockingbird.

Bobcat
