Is a 1/6 figure, eight times the size of a 1/12 figure?
No. 1/6 refers to the size of the actual character in relation to the action figure. The figure is 1/6th the size of the character if they existed in the real world. A six foot individual would be a foot tall 1/6th action figure. 1/12 means the same thing, only they would be a twelfth, or half the size of 1/6 (6" for a six foot individual).
So if one were to get into this Mondo X-Men animated line now, which figures will I have missed out on? Who is still available to buy and who will I have to trade a kidney for at this point?
@justice you're mostly in luck. The special editions are gone for Magneto, Sabretooth, Gambit, and Rogue but standard editions are still available. Jubilee's special edition is also still available via Mondo direct. Wolverine can be had for pretty cheap relative to his MSRP and you may find that to be true for Magneto and Jubilee. The variant brown costume may be expensive though, I've never looked. The only ones that may prove hard to come by are Omega Red and Logan as both were convention exclusives. Even though they were con exclusives, they were just delivered this year so right now re-sellers may have them marked up as high as they'll go and may come down. Or they'll move at the current prices and only get more expensive, but that's how this sort of thing works.

Yes, so if a 1/6th figure is double the height of a 1/12th figure, isn't it also double the width and double the depth too? If so, wouldn't this then yield a 2 x 2 x 2 = 8 times the volume increase?
If it was only double the height but the exact same width and depth, then it would be double the size, but I get the feeling that these figures are actually 8 times the size when moving from 1/12th scale to 1/6th scale for the same character design, as surely each dimension doubles?
Is this satire
This should be a fairly simple thing to get to the bottom of I would have thought, but some people think one thing and others think something else, (based on the response so far). What is your perspective? Is it twice the size? Is it eight times the size? Is it some other factor?
Just answer the question if you think you know. Presumably you think the answer is trivial, but with opposing viewpoints already, not everyone shares your view.
Ok ChatGPT, I think this might clear some things up for you:
So what is the answer for the factor of the volume change from 1/12th to 1/6th figures? I don't see the answer there.
I'm assuming you're trolling. But on the off chance you're not, a 1/12 figure is around 6" tall, 1/6 figures like these Mondo ones are around 12" tall.
Me trying to figure out the difference between 1/12 and 1/6 after I got hit on the head. 🤕

How much bigger is it volume-wise. I am well aware that they are twice the height.
One poster was saying that they are double the size/volume, perhaps they were trolling, but I believe them to be eight times the size/volume. What do you think? I'm guessing that you think twice too, hence why you accused me of trolling and not the other poster.
Is holding one 1/6 figure in your hand, the same weight as holding eight 1/12 figures in your hand of the same sculpt/character design?

Are you real? Who even wonders about something like this?
