I got the limited edition Venom yesterday. It’s quite an amazing figure. Will add some photos soon.
It comes with a hand that’s holding webbing to put Spidey in that wraps around his waist that’s meant to look like the image from the show’s credits.
Only problem is I can’t figure out how to get it on Spidey. It’s too tight to shimmy it up his legs. One of the legs popped out from its pet when I did that
And I’m reluctant to try and pop Spidey off at his waist given the cost of the figure. Anyone else tried it?
I got notification that my Uncanny (non-animated) Omega Red was shipping from China yesterday. Presume to have it in a few weeks.
@gpmartin414 is the part you're referring to that sort of web sex swing Venom comes with? I wonder if they intend for people to pop the legs off in order to get it on? They're just ball and socket joints, but I totally get not wanting to pop the legs off of a 200 dollar figure just to check out some accessory. Mondo is pretty helpful with QA stuff, maybe they can pass along official instructions if you email them? I wonder if they may go over it too in one of their YouTube shows. The sculptor should be on Gotham City Tonight this week and maybe you could get a question in to him. I would think he knows or could even demonstrate on camera.
EDIT: Just looking at the pictures on the website, if that "belt" portion doesn't come apart then I don't know how you could get it on without separating the figure at the abdomen. No idea if they engineered Spidey to be easier to do that than most, sort of like how Cyclops and Logan have arms that pop off fairly easily, but it would be a good thing to have confirmed before trying to do it. Should just be a double-ball peg in there, I would guess.

LOL at "web sex swing."
But yeah, that's what I'm talking about. I'll ask them via the customer service email I have going with them already about the Green Goblin unmasked hand missing its peg. If they give me advice and then it breaks from that, I would imagine I'd get a replacement.
I received the Uncanny version of Rogue and I'm not sure if it was worth it given the outrageous prices these things cost. There are sculpt/paint imperfections dotted around, something I'd be willing to let slide with mass produced figures like Legends, but not at this cost.
Her colour palette certainly looks better, to me, than the regular release. It may be a matter of preference but I objectively think the figure and sculpt look better overall like this. Her heads have nice, sharp, clear paint, a contrast to what I've seen from the regular release, even the "fixed" ones Mondo sent out. Her articulation, as expected from all I've seen from Mondo, is limited. I tried to get her in some more dynamic poses than how I've seen others pose her, which I'd liken to the Marvel Handbook character sheets, but the articulation layout is frustrating. Being kind, maybe Mondo made this line with the express intent that they can stand looking pretty and they should only be give the ability to have limited movement. If that's the case, they should have went all in on 1/6 pre posed statues, because their current engineering and articulation model is severely dated. Still, she's hit a standing post that is quintessential Rogue to me. Just wish it was easier to get there and she had the capability to go beyond that. I'm probably most excited about the Sentinel base and how I can use it with Legends X-Men.
Anyone having trouble getting Cyclops' hands out? I broke the peg on Rogue's hand and I'm afraid to do the same with Scott
@wthiotina yes, the ones that come inserted in the figure from the factory were pretty troublesome. I'm sure you know all the tricks, but what worked for me was taking a bowl of hot water (not boiling) that was large and deep enough that I was able to take the figure with the elbow bent close to 90 degrees and insert it into the water up to, but not including, the actual fist. My goal was to warm the forearm only so it would be softer without warming up the hand. If you just plunge the whole hand into the water it may just soften the fist itself and then that will pop off of the peg inside it as opposed to the peg in the arm coming out. It worked for me, still took some elbow grease and a little courage to extract the hand, but no breaks and they've been easier to work with since. I still have not attempted the same with the jacketed arms.
I think I'd be even more nervous about trying to pull them out on someone else's figure. Mondo is pretty great about fixing things though, so probably better to attempt sooner rather than later while they are likely to still have extra parts.
In case you missed it, Wolverine is up for preorder now on Mondo's site. Maybe they're listening to us because this one is a timed edition and you have until March 7th at 11:59 AM CST to get your order in. He looks fantastic. This may go down as the best proportioned Wolverine figure we've ever received.

I'm really torn on whether to continue this line or not. I opened the Mondo Harley for the top of my new DC section - but she doesn't really pose well or easily. I've opened both regular Rogue and Uncanny Rogue and same - I have such trouble even balancing her on the sentinel base that has indents for her feet.
I love the faithfulness to the cartoon designs *a lot* but I just don't know if I want to open the whole line and deal with the falling over and hard to pose. But they are so heavy, I don't think I can easily sell them back off. Plus, I know I still want Jean and Storm.
So I think they'll continue to sit in their boxes taking up an entire corner until I can decide.
Logan looks fantastic and I like all the options - I just can't decide.
Is your Rogue just floppy? You may be able to get it exchanged via Mondo. I was leery of that sentinel base when I got it, but I haven't had any shelf dives with Rogue yet and have kept her exclusively on the base. Her feet seem to slot into it pretty well and the joints aren't loose enough to cause an issue. I've switched her up a few times too as I like the different portraits. Right now her and Cyke are both cutting loose with optic blasts.
I'm in for Wolverine. Already purchased Egon, so other than the 1/12 scale He-Man I'm probably good on Mondo for a while. Hopefully they save their Nightcrawler til next year, just to save my wallet.
@jtmarsh your wallet may need some attention. Sounds like they're planning as many as five releases this year if I'm remembering correctly from the stream (which jag just posted too). I thought I heard Hector confirm 3 X-Men and two villains. Sounds like we're also getting a brown costume Wolverine variant and I don't know if that's part of the 3. On the plus side, they basically promised that we'll get the full, core, team so sounds like sales are going strong. Now, what constitutes the full team is a bit of a subjective question as it pertains to the likes of Morph, Bishop, and Nightcrawler, though all feel like safe bets right now.
